Changing lives by partnering with students and families.

About us

Peninsula Bridge transforms the lives of highly motivated, low-income students by preparing and supporting them for success in college preparatory high school programs and four-year colleges. Peninsula Bridge has been nurturing students’ potential and encouraging them to reach for the stars since 1989. Peninsula Bridge provides a 12-year continuum of support from 5th grade through high school and college graduation, with an integration of non-cognitive skill development, STEM and project-based, hands-on learning. The comprehensive support ensures that students have the academic and social-emotional skills to thrive in high school and college. Programs are rigorous and engaging. Our primary goal is to provide educational access and support, while fostering the personal confidence, sense of belonging and self-esteem needed to pursue educational and lifetime dreams. With a high-quality teaching staff, mentoring and tutoring, an innovative curriculum and long-term commitment from participants, Peninsula Bridge prepares students to meet the challenges of academic success. Students attend programs year-round beginning with a five-week summer program at six independent school campuses on the Peninsula. Middle school programs are heavily focused on rigorous academics and personal development and high school and college programs are focused on advising and mentoring students to successfully graduate. Students also benefit from field trips, career exposure and support securing internships and jobs to create a sense of academic applicability in their lives. We are making a significant impact on the local community by leveling the playing field and closing the achievement gap for hundreds of underserved yet high-achieving students each year—inspiring a new generation of diverse college graduates, working professionals and community leaders who represent our future in a rapidly changing world. During September and October, Peninsula Bridge is teaming up with Loop Neighborhood Market and AU Energy for The Giving Pump at Shell USA (Shell) to drive positive change in the Bay Area by giving back. From September 1st through October 31st, a portion of the purchases at designated pumps at participating Shell stations across the Bay Area will benefit Peninsula Bridge. The Giving Pump will be specially marked with purple signage at participating Shell gas stations to inspire consumers to support Peninsula Bridge when purchasing fuel. With no additional cost when filling up, it’s easy to participate in the program. You can find a participating station by visiting shell.us/givingpump. We are incredibly grateful for this new partnership with Loop Neighborhood Market, AU Energy and The Giving Pump at Shell USA. #GivingPump #ShellStationsUS Shell

Wow! Last evening was a truly remarkable night as we gathered at our annual event, Building Bridges 2023. Thanks to the generosity of our amazing community, we are making college possible for over 900 students. We were inspired by Valeria, our lively emcee and a senior at Woodside Priory, and moved by the powerful stories shared by Bridget, UC Merced Junior, and Magaly, Peninsula Bridge alumna. And, a special highlight of the night was the inspirational keynote delivered by Dr. Tim Bono, sharing his insights on facing adversity, embracing community, and being proactive about mental health. Missed the event, but want to make a gift or learn more? Donate at paypal.me/peninsulabridge or learn about engagement opportunities at https://lnkd.in/eGAjjp6B Thank you for your unwavering support and dedication. Together, we're building bridges and transforming the lives of deserving students across the Peninsula.
