The Global Leadership Coach that Rocks! | Release the power of difference

Today is the 20th anniversary of my company, Highroad Global Services! (www.highroaders.com) I can hardly believe it. I remember this day in 2004 when I shut down my computer at my corporate job for the last time, walked out into the sunny afternoon, and started a new life. Back then, my world was a different place. When I think of all that has changed since 2004, I cannot help but feel a little somber. Today, difference is under attack once again, as it has been before many times. For some that has never ceased. But for me, the work doesn't stop. I will stay true to my mission as I have for the last 20 years: Help teams from around the world work together at their best, amplify as many diverse voices as possible, and be an instrument of uplift for my clients. I reflect on the last 20 years with a great deal of pride and gratitude. I have fulfilled many dreams through Highroad and met incredible people along the way. I want to thank everyone who has supported me on this two-decade journey. There are too many to name, but hopefully you know who you are! Special thanks to my parents, my husband, my assistant Tracy Saeman, my mentors Rita Wuebbeler, PCC, M.A., and Jeremy Solomons, and my People First Elevation Team partner Jeff Bond. My deepest and most profound thanks goes to all of my AMAZING clients! You have trusted me and let me be a part of your journey. I will never take that for granted. And so the work continues; it is in fact never finished. As the late, great Neil Peart of Rush says, "A spirit with a vision is a dream with a mission." I'll see you on the Highroad!

The Global Leadership Coach that Rocks! | Release the power of difference

My LinkedIn profile picture needed updating so I debated what to choose. Ultimately I went with this picture. It was taken by one of my band's fans. The photo is authentic and it represents me as a coach: I reach out to people, I connect with difference, I help clients make their best selves visible, and I encourage them when they have speaker anxiety. 😎 I wondered if I should put a picture of my alter ego, the tribute band singer, but really I'm the same person in all worlds - the global leadership coach that rocks! I'm happy with it. Thanks to Maggie Brady and Debby Stone for the inspiration! Check out my band's new website! https://lnkd.in/e2Z-jT9r

It was an energizing last couple of days meeting new business leaders at their first Conscious Capitalism event and reconnecting with friends! Kudos to the Dallas team and everyone at CCI for making this gathering possible!

The final day at the Conscious Capitalism conference was inspirational. We heard great stories and examples of how Conscious Capitalism is operationalized within huge enterprises like Thrivent and Whole Foods Market. We also were inspired by the incredible talks from Rand Stagen about how to pursue higher ground in our polarized world and Neha Sangwan, M.D. about elevating our relationships, deepening our connections, and practical solutions to avoid burnout. Our board members, Chris Hooper and Jeff Bond, enjoyed joining the Conscious Capitalism Dallas Chapter and Conscious Capitalism, Inc. to partake in this well planned and curated experience. We're also thrilled to read John Mackey new book, 'The Whole Story' after much anticipation, and wish him our loving support in his new venture, Love.Life. Together, we continue to shape the practice and perception of capitalism, elevating humanity through business. One room... one audience at a time.

Are we focusing too much on our differences at the expense of our similarities? Melissa Hahn, in her book "Forging Bonds in a Global Workforce," urges us to look beyond the surface of cultural distinctions. She highlights how understanding our differences is important, but it shouldn't overshadow the connections we share and the people right in front of us. As an expert intercultural consultant, Melissa guides us to engage more deeply, fostering stronger, more inclusive relationships in the workplace. Her insights are crucial for anyone navigating a global team, helping us to not just observe but truly connect. I LOVE and couldn't agree with this more! Let’s strive to balance our view of differences with a strong appreciation for what brings us together.
