Perceive_horizon's partner imki | Augmented creativity participated to the "ReAImagining Public Collections in the 21st Century in Light of Digital Development" conference held in Budapest (Hungary). It was organized by SHIFT PROJECT (HORIZON EUROPE) from 14-15 October at two fantastic venues Országos Széchényi Könyvtár and Hungarian National Museum. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ef3hYZYG 👉 https://lnkd.in/eMeWwXPp They took part to a panel discussion with their #HorizonEurope partners SHIFT PROJECT (HORIZON EUROPE), MuseIT Project (Horizon Europe), MEMENTOES Project, PREMIERE and MEMORISE_EU. The topic was mostly about #CulturalHeritage in the world of #ArtificialIntelligence in #museums and #librairies. Key #AI themes were also discussed such as: - #Digitization. - #Data management and copyright. - Data and #EUregulations. - Reuse of data for Artificial Intelligence. - #OpenSource. Such meeting establishes the foundation for a strong collaboration between these #European projects, with a focus on benefiting EU citizens. 🎤🌐🖼️ Perceive_horizon has organised a very successful and attended workshop session at the #ACMConference on web3D conference in Portugal. It was entitled: "The potential of PERCEPTIVE reconstructions in Cultural Heritage for the web3D-technology stack." 🎤🌐🖼️ 🌐 It focused on the on going developed methodology and tools dedicated to polychrome statues segmentation and colour/ style transfer and to the web3D multilayer visualisation tool, MulaX, based on Aton framework. 🌐The workshop covered hybrid experiences in web3D, web3D tools for conservators and heritage science experts, assessing visitor behaviors, open standards in public exhibitions, and integrating AI technologies for improved visual perception, along with specific techniques such as cross-spectral 3D reconstruction, semiautomatic segmentation, semantic style transfer, and appearance modeling. 🌐Web3D technologies provide interactive ways to present scientific data, including 3D models from archaeometric surveys, and offer new possibilities for accessing and examining artwork. 🌐The partners presented a Web3D/WebXR tool for inspecting multi-layered 3D assets, enabling interactive discovery, semantic enrichment, and efficient spatial queries. The tool also integrates AI-generated material assets into the web3D technology stack, enhancing applications and enabling immersive material reconstructions for cultural heritage experts and researchers. Perceive_horizon colleagues participated as partners in the 𝟐𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞 (𝐆𝐂𝐇 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒) in Darmstadt, Germany! The GCH workshop brings together experts from ICT and Cultural Heritage (CH) to foster global knowledge exchange, focusing on processing, managing, and sharing cultural information with broader audiences. We are happy to highlight two key presentations from the project: 📚 “Towards an Experiment Planner for Cognitive Studies in Virtual Heritage Environments: A Pilot Study”. Marcello Massidda et al. (CNR ISPC - Institute of Heritage Science, Italy), explored the use of Virtual Reality for replicable cognitive experiments in cultural 3D spaces, offering a flexible and user-friendly tool for psychologists and researchers. 📚“SemanticSplatStylization: Semantic scene stylization based on 3D Gaussian splatting and class-based style transfer”*. Saptarshi Neil Sinha et al.(Fraunhofer IGD, Germany) introduced a cutting-edge approach which enhances cultural heritage preservation by applying precise, context-aware 3D stylization to specific segments of cultural heritage objects, improving visual fidelity and multi-view consistency. 📖📖 Introducing the Open Museum Sketch Book 📖📖 This book is not just a collection of sketches—it's a narrative exploration of how design can shape and enhance our interaction with Cultural Heritage. Through five unique scenarios from the Perceive_horizon project, it brings to life the challenges of preserving and experiencing fading colors across art forms—from disappearing polychromy to born digital artworks. What makes this Sketch Book stand out is its innovative structure. Organized into "channels," it seamlessly blends physical and digital experiences ("phygitality") and showcases design strategies that make cultural artifacts come alive. Hand-drawn sketches, QR codes, and wireframe applications guide readers through the creative processes of the Open Space Museum—a place where both physical and digital worlds coalesce. 🔎 Do you want to know more?
