About us
The Planet Fitness franchise system has more than 130 franchisees that own and operate over 2,000 Planet Fitness locations in the United States in just over 15 years of franchising. Franchisees have more than $4 billion invested in the Planet Fitness brand with their collective locations. In May 2019, franchisee leaders from the PF Independent Franchisee Association and PF Franchisee Advisory Council came together and worked with PFHQ to form a single franchisee organization with a goal of streamlining collaboration and creating alignment on priorities, structure and execution within the brand. The new independent organization, the PF Independent Franchisee Council (PFIFC), is dedicated to preserving and enhancing the business interests of all Planet Fitness franchisees and to collaborating with the franchisor to improve brand equity for all stakeholders.

The PFIFC appreciates the hard work of those who volunteer their expertise and time to be on the IFC committees, and in turn, many of the IFC volunteers reap the benefits of having a voice and making an impact. Anthony Cera, vice president of global operations with Taymax Group, shares that his time on the IFC Vendor Management Committee has been very rewarding for him. “We bring together different perspectives and balance reacting to problems that arise from vendors that might be unforeseen, as well as staying ahead of our ever-evolving business by seeking out vendors that are innovative,” he says. “I am proud of the collaborative approach we have taken with the franchisor which has formed a relationship of transparency and accountability for which we are able to accomplish things quickly and effectively.” #pfifc #vendormanagement #ifccommittees

Vice President of Store Development with National Fitness Partners Todd Schively has served on the PFIFC Store Development Committee since 2022, and he enjoys using his development knowledge to help other franchisees. He says, “When I joined the Store Development Committee in 2022, I was looking for a way to utilize my real estate and development experience in a manner that would benefit more franchisees than just NFP. I have enjoyed working with the members of the SDC, all of whom bring a team-oriented approach to address system-wide, real estate and construction-related challenges facing franchisees.” #pfifc
