#BeetHunger

About us

Philabundance seeks to drive hunger from our communities today and end hunger forever. It serves approximately 90,000 people per week, a third of whom are children and 15% of whom are seniors. In 2016, Philabundance distributed approximately 24 million pounds of food through its own neighborhood distribution programs and through a network of 350 member agencies in 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Three quarters of a million people in our service area face hunger every day. Their stories are as diverse as the nine counties we serve: working families hit hard by the recession, women, children, seniors trying to make ends meet. The one thing they have in common is being part of a food system that desperately needs additional support. Philabundance was founded in 1984 with the simple belief that no man, woman or child should go hungry. Join us.

Last week, we concluded our 2nd annual Community Partnerships Day at Lincoln Financial Field, bringing together over 350 of our incredible agency partners! It’s the only time we’re all under one roof, and this event was filled with powerful breakout sessions, partner testimonials, and meaningful conversations focused on one of the biggest challenges we tackle every day—hunger. We even wrapped up with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Philadelphia Eagles' home! 🏟️🦅 As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we extend our gratitude to our special guests, Sister Mary Scullion, Co-Founder of Project HOME, Solomon Jones, host of WURD Radio, and our corporate sponsor, The GIANT Company, for their continued support. Thank you to everyone who attended and for standing with us in the fight against hunger.

Recently, Leidy's LLC held their Fancy Pants Charity Golf Outing in support of Philabundance! On this day, we were able to raise $20,000 for our neighbors in need! Leidy’s continues to be an incredible supporter of our mission as we drive hunger from our communities and end hunger for good. We are so grateful to Leidy’s for choosing to support Philabundance on this day of fun, community, and friendly competition. Thank you!

Today, we had an action-packed day in New Jersey, starting at Subaru’s headquarters to ramp up this year’s Camp Out for Hunger with 93.3 WMMR Philadelphia! 🎉 This amazing food drive plays a critical role in helping us provide food to families and individuals in need across the nine counties we serve, including Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem. We then headed over to Rutgers University - Camden to visit their newly renovated food pantry, to support students facing food insecurity. With hunger affecting so many in our region, this work is more important than ever. At Philabundance, we’re committed to ensuring that no one in our communities goes hungry. Every partnership and food distribution is a vital step toward our mission of relieving hunger now and ending hunger for good.
