As an organization, PACDC stands with the marginalized and under-resourced communities of Philadelphia in opposition to oppression, injustice, and ongoing inequity. We stand with our mothers, sisters, and daughters. We stand with our BIPOC and immigrant neighbors. We stand with our LGBTQIA family. And we stand with the marginalized people from across the City who feel particularly rejected and at risk. It is a privilege that we get to work every day with such talented, committed people from neighborhoods across the City and backgrounds from all over the world. It is an honor to work with you to build a more just, vibrant, and equitable Philadelphia and we pledge to continue that work with renewed vigor and dedication. Our strength comes from our community and our community is powerful – today and always. Take a moment to check in with yourself, your family, and your community. veder reddick and yours truly had the pleasure to join The Enterprise Center Ian Lawrence and @Neighborhood Progress Fund’s Reco Owens, CFA at the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations Equitable Development Conference to discuss how CDFI’s have been fostering growth in Philadelphia’s neighborhoods economy. The conference focused on Immigration: A Tapestry of Philadelphia.

Congratulations to PACDC member, HELP USA who received a 2024 Global Innovation Challenge grant of $500,000, one of only nine community organizations in the U.S. and 50 worldwide! The grant will allow HELP to pilot a web-based data management platform to increase the capacity, efficiency, and accessibility of homelessness prevention programs in the Bronx. HELP currently operates three Homebase programs for the City of New York, providing wrap-around services to prevent homelessness and increase housing stability for over 6,500 households annually. The pilot project will provide a model that can be replicated and shared across City Agencies. HELP USA President and CEO Dan Lehman said: "HELP has been a leader in homelessness prevention for decades... Through the commitment of visionary organizations like Citi which recognize the importance of PREVENTING homelessness, we can expand the scale and scope of what we do - making sure people remain stably housed and keeping them out of the shelter system."

🔔 The Philadelphia Department of Commerce (Commerce) seeks a consulting team to develop an organizational strategic plan for the South Street Headhouse District. The plan will focus on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), management and operations capacity building, board composition and involvement, and financial growth and stability, among other organizational needs. In addition to the final plan, the consulting team will also provide training to the board of directors and consultation to staff on a variety of organizational matters. ·        The Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) on behalf Commerce who will oversee the RFP process, contract awards, and negotiation. ·        Questions: RFP questions are due to philip.green@phila.gov by Monday, October 21, 2024, 5pm EST ·        Proposals Due: Monday November 4, 2024, 9am EST.
