New Beginnings and Dignity in Life's Journey

About us

Our Core Values: Our written core values reflect, in words, what is truly important to us as an organization. In our Mission we highlight the pillars of this culture: Compassion, Honesty and Patience. These descriptive words define our culture. Also in our DNA, we find these valuable qualities… Responsibility – We take full responsibility for our actions. Respect – We treat each other and those we serve with equal and high-level respect. Excellence – We strive to exceed the expectations standard in our industry – giving plus one service. Empathy – In all that we do, we ask, “What would I want if it were me?” Potential – We strive to help everyone reach their full potential in life. Courage – With an optimistic and brave heart we face each challenge, celebrating successes and viewing failures as opportunities to grow. Community – We are active participants in our communities…reaching out to be good neighbors. Our Story The story of the legend of the phoenix bird is a story of ever-changing growth and rebirth. The beautiful mythical creature reflected the lights and colors of the morning sunrise – – always chasing the light and capturing all that was beautiful. It is a symbol of constant rebirth, renewal and fresh starts. It is not a story of ashes but rather of beauty and upward thinking…(Isaiah 61:3). Our energy is focused on improving quality of life, perpetuating positive attitudes and embracing the challenges life places before us with grace, respect and compassion. Our catalyst to consistently rise to new heights is a combination of perpetual learning, measurement of success, looking through the eyes of those we serve and listening with the heart which causes us to pause and discover what is really important in each situation. Within the listening and the application of learning we find new beginnings. …We are Phoenix Home Care.

  • Meet Sheila, a Social Worker on our Hospice team from our Joplin, MO region! We asked, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” Sheila replied, “To be a blessing and provide emotional support to our patients and families in their homes at one of their most difficult times in life is a gift! I'm honored that they trust me with their fears. To provide that comfort and peace in their hearts and minds while sitting next to their loved one who is passing is such a blessing! ” When we asked Sheila, "Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?" she said, "Being able to be a part of a team who works close like a family, as we do at Phoenix, offers that extra comfort and peace for our patients and families! There's no place like home! " In response to "What would you like to tell others contemplating working at Phoenix Home Care & Hospice?", Sheila replied with, "You are never alone out in the field! There will always be someone to call on for help when and if you need it. We support each other!!" Sheila has worked in home care for 15 years, and been with Phoenix for 2 years this month. 🎉 Outside of work, she enjoys being a Nana of two beautiful little girls, and loves family time with her two sons, close family, and friends. Sheila is also an avid gardener, loves to cook, and loves shoes! (what woman doesn't?) 👡 💖 We are so blessed to have you on Team Phoenix, Sheila! Thank you for all that you do!

  • Meet Melissa, a Caregiver from our Jefferson City, MO region! We asked Melissa, “What gives you the passion to do what you do?” She replied, “Caring for others.” We also asked her, “Why Home Care & Why Phoenix?” Melissa answered ”I chose home care because most clients cannot do it for themselves. I chose Phoenix because they care.” We asked "What does the X-Factor mean to you?" (The X-Factor is the personal and professional abilities of our nurses and caregivers to use their experience, orientation to serve, skill set, optimism, passion & honesty to bring the very best care to our clients and their families.) Melissa said, "The X-Factor to me means dependable. My clients always know I will be there. My skill and passion make their day." Melissa says she doesn't have much time outside of work, but when she does, spending quality time with family is her priority. She loves to go camping and kayaking with them.
