We enjoyed a lively 2nd Symposium on Analytical Atomic Spetrometry today at University of Zagreb / Sveučilište u Zagrebu, including an opening presentation by Prof. Sanda Roncic, also Sebastien Sannac (Agilent Technologies), Lukas Schlatt (Nu Instruments Ltd), Bill Spence (Teledyne Photon Machines), and Gianpaolo Rota (@Milestone), along with many fascinating scientific talks by community members. The plenary by Martin Šala was particularly insightful! We’re looking forward to the lab-based workshop tomorrow. Hope to see you there!

EWLA2024 - European Workshop on Laser Ablation (Ghent, Belgium) is beginning to feel like a distant memory now, but we can bring the memory back a little with some downloadable posters! Whether you were in attendance or not, we have managed to get several excellent posters, all featuring data generated with Teledyne Photon Machines products, and we can share them here: Antea Hrepić - Empirical Insights into Crater Geometry: Modeling for Enhanced Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry Analysis https://lnkd.in/e8wdGurJ Ciprian Stremtan - Laser Ablation – Cavity Ringdown Spectrometry – A novel method for in situ measurement of light stable isotope ratios https://lnkd.in/e3kYk3ND Tom Van Helden - Dual-phase formation in LA-ICP-MS of biological tissue https://lnkd.in/eEpr745G Ethan Tonks - Automated Selection of Sites for Chemical Microanalysis Using Image Segmentation https://lnkd.in/exi4Swb8 Daniel Persson - Suberin restricts potassium leakage from plant roots https://lnkd.in/ehh9vrMN Martin Kutzschbach - LA-ICP-MS/MS-based Rb-Sr isotope mapping for geochronology https://lnkd.in/eRjyqeFZ Ciprian Stremtan - Laser ablation IRMS analysis of 𝛅13C in creep affected Picea abies from Făgăraș Mountains, Romania https://lnkd.in/eQV2YD3U Massimo Tiepolo - Historical trends of metal pollution in the metropolitan area of Milano, Italy: a combined dendro-chemical, dendro-magnetic and dendro-XRD approach https://lnkd.in/e3u2gYKP Remi Dallmayr - New cryogenic ablation cell technology for high sample throughput impurity mapping in ice-cores with LA-ICP-MS https://lnkd.in/e4dhnvcx Please give this a like if you download anything!

It has been a good week in Busan at IGC 37. Large expo with about 3.5 k people in attendance. Bill Spence and Ciprian Stremtan have been delighted to make new contacts and reconnect with old ones. Tomorrow is LA-ICP-MS imaging workshop day. We have one or two spaces left - come along if you’d like to!
