I'm excited to moderate this panel Tuesday September 17 at Denver Startup Week with startups describing their genesis and backstory with federally funded labs, and their current partnerships with an audience of savvy entrepreneurs wanting to understand the huge resource that is Colorado's federal lab ecosystem! We'll hear from representatives from Octave Photonics, and their work with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), buildee and National Renewable Energy Laboratory, PhotonPharma and the The National Institutes of Health, and LongPath Technologies, Inc. with their roots in the The Nobel Prize-winning research from JILA at University of Colorado Boulder, National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences. https://lnkd.in/gWHqBey5

I am incredibly proud of the team that has worked so diligently, effectively and efficiently to bring this new therapeutic platform forward into the clinical phase of development. It was a true pleasure for Laura and I to join Dean Olesik and Samara Preisler, Senior Director of Development, for dinner in Denver and to connect with Professor Berliner and Professor Bursten who were instructors when I was a student at The Ohio State University from 1981-1985. I was incredibly pleased to learn about some of the initiatives that the university is undertaking to expand opportunities for students and faculty to take part in building translational science and private sector relationships and experiences. They are building the solutions to the challenges we face today into the education and economy of our future. I look back now and realize how fortunate I was to be a student at Ohio State with so many faculty members who were both outstanding teachers, administrators and examples to follow in life and in career. Time and change have surely shown how firm thy friendship, OHIO!
