October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, a time to honor the lives of babies gone too soon and support the families who carry their memory in their hearts. 💙💗 This month, we raise awareness and offer our compassion to all who have experienced such a profound loss. The Pikes Peak Region's community leader in end-of-life care for more than 40 years.
About us
Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care has provided hospice care and palliative services for 40 years. PPHPC began offering services in 1980, and is the only community-based, nonprofit hospice provider in El Paso and Teller counties in Colorado. Patients can receive our services wherever they call home – a private residence, assisted living community or skilled nursing facility. When medical needs become more complex, we are the only area hospice provider with our own licensed inpatient care unit to manage more serious care needs in a comfortable setting. The focus of our philosophy of care is to provide quality symptom control and practical support to holistically address patients’ physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Comprehensive grief support for surviving families of loved ones continues for thirteen months following the death of our patients. In addition, PPHPC is committed to sharing its expertise about end-of-life issues through education and collaborations throughout the community.

🌟 Honoring Sergeant Major Gonzalez 🌟 On July 30, we had the distinct honor of conducting a Veteran Recognition Ceremony for former Army Sergeant Major Gonzalez at his home, surrounded by his wife and three daughters. Olivia, our Veteran Liaison, presented Sergeant Major Gonzalez with a flag used at the National Cemetery on Memorial Day, a handcrafted red, white, and blue blanket, and a special challenge coin from Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care. One of the most meaningful moments was when Sergeant Major Gonzalez shared his advice from one Army Veteran to another: "Be close to your father and mother." Following the ceremony, his family proudly shared his military room, filled with scrapbooks, medals, and photos from his remarkable service in Korea and beyond. It was a beautiful tribute to his life and dedication. While hospice care wasn’t yet a choice the family was ready to make, we were able to offer additional resources to support their needs as they continue to care for Sergeant Major Gonzalez at home. Thank you, Sergeant Major Gonzalez, for your unwavering dedication and service to our nation. 🇺🇸 #VeteranRecognition #ThankYouForYourService #WeHonorVeterans #MilitaryFamily #LegacyOfService #PikesPeakHospice
