Important Update for Madeira Beach Fundamental School Families. To ensure that both elementary and middle school families have time to get the information they need regarding the relocation of Madeira Beach Fundamental, Pinellas County Schools will now hold two family meetings. One specific to elementary grades and one specific to middle grades.   The meeting scheduled for tonight (Monday, September 30) will focus on the elementary grade transition and will be held in the Osceola Fundamental High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Classes for elementary school students resume on Wednesday, October 2, at the new site, Walsingham Elementary School as previously communicated. The meeting for middle school families will occur tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1, at 6 p.m. in the Osceola Fundamental High School auditorium. Because of this change in the meeting date, and to allow additional preparation time, middle school students will now return to class on Thursday, October 3, at Osceola Fundamental High School. Pinellas County Schools continues to work closely with Pinellas County Emergency Management regarding the impact Hurricane Helene had on our area. Some of our schools continue to be needed as Hurricane Shelters for our community. Some of our schools don’t have power or sewage services. We are assessing when our schools can open. We’ll provide an update over the weekend. Our staff will assess all district facilities to determine when activities can resume at each campus. Monday, October 14, a designated hurricane make-up day, will now be a student school day for all Pinellas County Schools in order to make up for instructional time lost during this week. Additional make-up days, if needed, will be determined at a later date. Updates will also be posted on the district website, www.pcsb.org/weather.

Last week, the Pinellas Education Foundation donated back-to-school supplies to Blanton Elementary with help from 10 Tampa Bay’s morning news team. With nearly $60,000 in supplies and donations, they distributed resources to 20 schools in need. Thanks to the generosity of over 60 businesses and organizations that hosted supply drives, a total of more than 22,000 pieces of school supplies were collected. 🎒✏️📚

This week is Start with Hello Week 💚👋 This initiative was started by the Sandy Hook Promise to raise awareness about social isolation and educate students and the community on how to prevent it. This week, we asked students across our schools to wear green to symbolize unity and solidarity. Students and staff participated in various activities and conversations about embracing their differences and celebrating their empathy, kindness, and connection. #StartWithHelloWeek #SandyHookPromise
