District operations staff have assessed and begun repairs to damages on our school sites. Currently, there are nearly 80 school sites with no power. At this time, no decision has been made about the date for school reopening as it is dependent upon the stability of the power grid. Please follow all guidance issued by Pinellas County Emergency Management. Continue to take care of yourself and your loved ones.

PCS is working closely with Pinellas County Emergency Management to monitor the path of Hurricane Milton and the possible impact on our region.  All Pinellas County Schools and offices will now be CLOSED from Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 11. All sports and school activities scheduled for those dates are canceled. Updates will also be posted on the district website, pcsb.org/weather.  Please follow all directives issued by Pinellas County Emergency Management. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

We’ve successfully completed our first week back after Hurricane Helene! 🎉 It’s been a week of new beginnings, with Tyrone Middle School offering childcare services, Gulf Beaches Elementary kicking off its first day at Disston Academy, Madeira Beach Fundamental (K-5) starting fresh at Walsingham and Southern Oak, and Madeira Beach Fundamental (6-8) launching its first day at Osceola High. A huge thank you to our amazing students, staff, parents, and community for your incredible patience and flexibility during this transition. What an incredible display of community spirit at Mildred Helms Elementary! Students and staff united to surprise and support our amazing teachers in the wake of Hurricane Helene. In just under 24 hours, they crafted over 40 care packages filled with essential supplies—using their own funds and items from their classrooms! Each package was topped off with heartfelt handwritten notes from students. #PCSProud #PCSStrong

Osceola Fundamental High School families, as you know due to significant damage to the Madeira Beach Fundamental campus, Osceola Fundamental will begin to host the Madeira Beach Fundamental middle school students. District staff has worked on updating a student schedule that meets all Florida Department of Education requirements and allows student hours to begin at 7:00 A.M. Important Update for Madeira Beach Fundamental School Families. To ensure that both elementary and middle school families have time to get the information they need regarding the relocation of Madeira Beach Fundamental, Pinellas County Schools will now hold two family meetings. One specific to elementary grades and one specific to middle grades.   The meeting scheduled for tonight (Monday, September 30) will focus on the elementary grade transition and will be held in the Osceola Fundamental High School auditorium at 6:30 p.m. Classes for elementary school students resume on Wednesday, October 2, at the new site, Walsingham Elementary School as previously communicated. The meeting for middle school families will occur tomorrow, Tuesday, October 1, at 6 p.m. in the Osceola Fundamental High School auditorium. Because of this change in the meeting date, and to allow additional preparation time, middle school students will now return to class on Thursday, October 3, at Osceola Fundamental High School.
