The number of female physicians has surged, with women now making up 38% of all physicians in the U.S. and over 55% of medical students! Many are leading the charge in primary care fields like pediatrics, family medicine, internal medicine, and OB-GYN. And while a significant number are entering surgical specialties, we still see fewer women in non-surgical areas like cardiology, gastroenterology, and neurology. As we celebrate this progress, let’s encourage even more women to explore all specialties!
