Just attended the Massachusetts Lodging Association’s Outlook 2025 presentation by Rachel Roginsky from Pinnacle Advisory Group. The session offered some valuable insights into economic and lodging trends, with a focus on projections for 2024 and 2025 in both the Boston suburbs and the Boston & Cambridge markets. Pinnacle had another great semester educating the up-and-coming students at the School of Hospitality Administration at Boston University! Pictured here is Gary Avigne's class on Hospitality Market Feasibility and Valuation. On the last day of the course, students were tasked with presenting comprehensive real-world hotel feasibility studies.

Two weeks ago, Pinnacle Advisory Group, Inc. hosted its fourth annual College and University Hotel Owner Symposium. The subject of this mini conference, attended by academic institutions that own or want to develop and own a hotel and by hotel operators with experience in this industry segment, was to evaluate a range of topics that reflect the unique characteristics of hotels owned by academic institutions. The topics included operating issues affecting top line revenue, various legal items, multi-purpose hotels (conference center, etc.), development and capital planning, and operating issues that affect profitability. I sat on one panel and facilitated three panels, and it was a pleasure and a privilege. Pinnacle Advisory Group, Inc. will be issuing a newsletter within a week or two with much more detail about the symposium.

The “Celebrating Diversity” award represents a very special collaboration of the sponsor of the NYU Hotel investment conference, The AH & AMP; LA Foundation, the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, and the co-editors and authors of the Hotel Investment: Issues & AMP; Perspectives Publication. Rachel Roginsky, ISHC, and Lori Raliegh have served as co-editors and authors for the five editions of the Hotel Investments: Issues and Perspectives publication. Founded in 2022, and all of the royalty proceeds from these books served as seed money for the founding of the award. The purpose of the award is to provide an opportunity for two minority students to attend the NYU Hotel Investment Conference. The 2022 and 2023 awards were given to four accomplished students from Bethune-Cookman University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Virginia State University, and North Carolina Central University. The award provides each student with admission to the NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference, lodging, and transportation to NYC. This April, Ms. Roginsky and Ms. Raleigh will be announcing the names of two students who will be selected for the 46th NYU International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference.

Rachel Roginsky, was the lead presenter at NEIRA's Annual Conference. The 2023 Conference was held November 1-3 at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine. The focus of the presentation looked at New England and national lodging trends, Innkeeper and Resort expectations for the coming year, historical data, and lodging outlook.
