Pipeline repair methods are continually evolving to meet the growing regulatory demands of the pipeline industry. Read our article below. ⬇️ This article discusses traditional pipeline repair techniques like mechanical repair clamps and steel repair sleeves as well as modern pipeline repair solutions, such as composite wet layup repair systems. As technology evolves, pipeline repair methods will continue to become increasingly sophisticated. For 72 years and counting, PRCI has been on the frontlines of these developments, working hand in hand with operators and technology providers to promote safer, cleaner, and more efficient pipeline repair practices. PRCI Academy’s pipeline repair course and the Pipeline Repair Manual provide valuable resources to stay on top of the latest practices. All these resources are provided under PRCI OpenAccess – available to members and non-members. Professor PeRCI Oversees Flaw Creation for UP-2-05 Project! Professor PeRCI is on the case! Our resident inspector is meticulously examining controlled flaws being ground into a 12" pipe for the ongoing PRCI UP-2-05 Project. Testing from the Inside Out! After flaw creation, the pipe will be wrapped and buried in our 110ft ditch for guided wave and other acoustic testing to evaluate corrosion detection methods. Need Realistic Flaws for Your Testing Needs? We can create controlled defects in pipes for NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) and other testing purposes. Contact, Facility Manager, Lance Abney, FMP to learn more! Labney@prci.org #LeadingPipelineResearch

Earlier this month, we welcomed a group of pipeline industry colleagues to our PRCI Open House. The event was filled with engaging discussions, innovative demonstrations, and valuable connections—all focused on advancing the future of the industry. The Open House provided a dynamic forum for professionals to gather and network. Events like these don’t just promote industry camaraderie—they provide critical opportunities to discover new technologies while keeping up to date with the latest research. Open House exhibitors demonstrated lasers, NDT for buried pipelines with ultrasonic imaging, and pipeline material verification systems. Classroom sessions focused on topics like the ILI crack journey, the importance of accurate materials, and using AI and satellites to prevent pipeline damage. Time spent together with industry professionals discussing technology developments and trends positively impacts the industry and creates strong, meaningful connections. #PRCI #LeadingPipelineResearch #Pipeline #OilGas #PipelineIntegrity
