After #data has been collected, managed and analyzed, there is another important step that often does not receive enough attention: Data Visualization. It describes transforming complex data into clear and concise visual formats enabling easy comprehension and effective communication. Ensuring that data visualizations are both clear and relevant is essential for gaining a comprehensive understanding of asset condition and facilitating informed decision-making regarding asset integrity and performance. Collaborating with operators globally, we have sharpened our ability to visualize #pipeline integrity data in a meaningful and actionable manner. The introduction of #hydrogen into the #gasnetworks will reduce the critical flaw size of crack-like indications due to the potential embrittlement of the material. The inclusion of additional uncertainties in the ILI tolerance could have an adverse effect on the integrity of the #pipeline network. Read more about why ILI validation is so important to this process in the latest article published in the third issue of the Pipeline Technology Journal - ptj by our expert Tom Oldfield "Validation of ILI Performance, the Importance of ILI Validation in the Energy Transition to Hydrogen Fuels". #empoweredbytechnology #FutureFuels #EmergingFuels #PipelineIntegrity #EnergyTransition

We have two spectacular papers up our sleeve that will be presented at the #APGA Convention and Exhibition 2024 from October 12-15 in Adelaide, Australia. Michelle Unger will present the journey of our #competencedevelopment program including our most recent research on how bots compare to #engineers when taking assessments in her presentation “Pipeline Engineers versus #AI: Who would win a match in ‘Competence’?” on Monday, October 14 at 4:05 PM. Are we still better than bots? Let's find out! On Tuesday, October 15, at 9:10 AM Marion Erdelen reports on “Bridges and #pipelineintegrity engineering – what do they have in common? An EPRG perspective”. The repurposing of pipelines and the general transformation of the #pipelineindustry to meet climate targets is creating new challenges and requirements. One of the most important integrity problems in the case of #pipeline repurposing for #hydrogen and #CO₂ is the transferability of laboratory results to real-scale behavior and the validity of the assessment routines. This was investigated by conducting full-scale pressure cycle endurance tests with corresponding laboratory tests. Now, the first full scale test results have been obtained and have confirmed that there are differences to the known mechanisms, which will be outlined in the presentation. Be there to stay ahead of the game! #empoweredbytechnology Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA)

A loading line in Asia Pacific, connected to a PLEM (pipeline end manifold), was shut down despite several inspections and various repair works being carried out for fear of #integrityrisks. To extend the service life of the loading line, the customer initiated a modification of the existing PLEM. As is often the case, this project did not end with just one #challenge: The team was faced with accessibility, negotiability, and propulsion issues. Read the full case below to find out more about extending the service life of aging assets in the #oilandgas industry. This week, our ROSEN team is attending the 2024 International Pipeline Conference & Expo (#IPCE) in Calgary, Canada. It is a great opportunity to showcase our innovative solutions and underscore our commitment to #pipeline safety and integrity. Here is a brief summary of our key highlights from the event so far: ➡ Presentation of the innovation “Data Fusion”: We present our innovative approach of combining MFL-A and MFL-C data to create detailed 3D corrosion profiles. The solution is highly interesting as it can significantly improve the accuracy of corrosion assessments and help operators make more informed decisions. Overall, the abundance of our presentation and topics is overwhelming. Take advantage of this last opportunity and let our experts inspire you. ➡ Interactive technology demonstrations: Experience live demonstrations of our latest advancements in #pipelineinspection technologies, including tools for predictive maintenance and #AI-driven data analysis. ➡ Networking and collaboration: We exchange ideas with the over 6,000 industry experts on how to overcome key challenges, from regulatory changes to the integration of digital technologies into pipeline operations. It is an inspiring week of innovation and #knowledgesharing. Thank you to everyone who visits our booth and participates in our sessions. Together, we are driving the future of #pipelineintegrity! #empoweredbytechnology #IPCE2024 #TechnologyInnovation #Sustainability

Some pipelines present special challenges that also require special attention. One of these challenges are high flow rates of the medium within a pipeline, which is common for many #gas pipelines to ensure maximum transport earnings. In the past, these flow rates had to be significantly reduced when using in-line inspection tools to ensure good #inspectiondata quality. For more than 20 years, our Speed Control Technology has allowed for #pipeline cleaning or inspection with less or even without reduction of the gas flow while maintaining the necessary data quality. Find out more below, and keep an eye out for more information on our Speed Control Technology in the upcoming weeks. #empoweredbytechnology #toolfleet #speedcontol #pipelineinspection

"I am routinely asked by pipeline operators what we can offer them regarding predictive analytics for #pipelineintegrity. Usually, these questions are driven by a common-sense need to reduce operational costs while maintaining safely operational #pipelineinfrastructure. Occasionally, such requests stem from a fear of missing out on the marginal gains #dataanalytics can provide. Invariably, my response to them begins with a discussion on #datagovernance, systems and processes, and #datamanagement," says Principal Data Scientist Edmund Bennett. Digitalization of the #pipelineindustry and the growing amount of data also increase the need for robust data management practices. In this article, he takes a closer look at the aspects that make data management increasingly important for pipeline operators and explains, why it is so dangerous not to take this aspect seriously: https://lnkd.in/g8jEAZCs #empoweredbytechnology

We are thrilled to announce that ROSEN has been selected as a finalist for the ASME Global Pipeline Award 2024! The nomination highlights our commitment to advancing pipeline safety and efficiency through cutting-edge technologies and innovative approaches. Our nominated approach, "MFL-A and MFL-C Data Fusion", will be a step change in how the industry will use MFL technology. Traditionally, integrating findings from MFL tools A and C has been a manual task, necessitating highly skilled analysts proficient in both MFL-A and MFL-C technologies. These experts need to grasp both the strengths and limitations of each technology to extract the most relevant information from #inspectiondata to accurately characterize features. Such analyses only result in a basic box-shaped representation of #corrosion defect dimensions – length, width and depth. In contrast, our proposed Data Fusion method involves combining the magnetic response signals from MFL-A and MFL-C into a convolutional neural network (CNN), generating a comprehensive 3D depth profile. This approach eliminates the need for the interpretation and manual merging of individual MFL signals, providing a complete 3D morphology description of the corrosion feature. Thank you to the ASME Award committee for recognizing our efforts, and congratulations to all the other finalists! We are looking forward to the Award ceremony.
