Happy Birthday CRA! The Community Reinvestment Act was signed into law on October 12, 1977 and it puts billions into underserved communities annually! And yet, some of the largest players in the banking industry filed a complaint in federal court to stop the new CRA rules from being implemented. Help us hold banks accountable! About us
Mission: PCRG builds the capacity of community development leaders to achieve racial and economic equity in the Allegheny region. Membership: Working on behalf of our membership base of Community Development Corporations, Community-Based Organizations, and related nonprofits, we act as the voice of community development at the local, state, and federal levels. Approach: The Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG) is a consortium of community leaders working for economic justice, equitable investment practices, and sufficient financial resources to revitalize communities throughout Allegheny County. PCRG represents 60 member organizations and has the ability to leverage their collective voice and position in the community to advocate for an array of policies. To date, PCRG has relied on wide-reaching advocacy, well researched policies, and grassroots mobilization across a number of priority pillars. PCRG utilizes its connections to members, businesses, government, and communities to drive positive change in social policies affecting those who live in low- and-moderate-income areas and communities of color. PCRG staff focus on research, outreach, and policy implementation Impact: Since 1988, we have brought significant public and private investment into the region. Through fostering community leadership, convening disparate stakeholders, and providing research and learning opportunities, we increase the resources that grow from and flow into our member communities.

What an amazing team doing important work!👏
Executive Director - Catapult Greater Pittsburgh- Creating intentional opportunities for asset and wealth building through Homeownership and Entrepreneurship. Reducing generational poverty, one family at a time.
Thank you to Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group for acknowledging the great work of my incredible team in making the Startup to Storefront program an award worthy program for entrepreneurs. LACHELLE BELL Kayla Bowyer and Nissa'a Stallworth - Hewitt make these entrepreneurship programs a safe haven full of love, support AND accountability. We work hard to create intentional opportunities for our participants to heal, learn and grow in a safe and nurturing environment and we can’t do this work without strong compassionate leaders like Lingaire Njie, MSW and Tanika Harris, who provide the hands on leadership necessary to lead a growing team, stay innovative and provide excellent customer care. Their leadership allows me the space and time to build our fundraising strategies and expansion plans with Jodi Salant, one of the most compassionate, caring, creative grant writer and development professionals I know. There are so many incredible hearts and minds making this organization what it is and I can’t believe I get to work with them every day💚 I’m so proud. #entrepreneurship #assetbuilding #wealthbuilding #supplementalincome #CatapultGreaterPittsburgh
