We are focused on diversifying our workforce through partnerships with the local trades and vocational schools, as well as recruiting from colleges and universities outside of our region. The #PLDIC recently had the opportunity to send one of our member organization employees, Willie Mae Starr-White of Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP, to The Advanced Leadership Institute's inaugural Unlocking Leadership Excellence Workshop! Please see a quote from Willie Mae about her experience, below. "It was an extraordinary experience. The workshop was not only engaging and motivating but also incredibly encouraging. Through the DISC Personality Survey, I gained valuable insights into my leadership style, which was both enlightening and empowering. One of the highlights for me was the segment on the formula for success, where we focused on creating actionable plans and statements. This practical approach to leadership was both inspiring and practical. A quote that resonated deeply with me was, 'Vision without a plan is an illusion.' This powerful statement underscored the importance of strategic planning in achieving our goals. Additionally, the workshop provided a fantastic opportunity to collaborate and network with other exceptional leaders and colleagues. The connections I made and the knowledge I gained have been invaluable. Overall, this was a remarkable experience and a tremendous opportunity for personal and professional growth."
On September 25th, TALI proudly offered its inaugural Unlocking Leadership Excellence Workshop to its sponsor organizations and their team leaders! During the day-long immersive workshop, top industry experts and accomplished Black professionals on a leadership panel covered topics on solving daily management and leadership challenges. To conclude the day, we hosted an evening reception and certificate ceremony! “We were pleased to add this new training opportunity to TALI’s leadership program portfolio,” says Evan Frazier. “Although our programs traditionally support the executive advancement of rising professionals to senior-level executives, our corporate partners asked us to apply our leadership training to support frontline leaders." We thank the Eat'n Park Hospitality Group and Giant Eagle, Inc. teams, instructors, panelists, TALI Alumni, and stakeholders who made this workshop successful.
