It’s been a year since we cut the ribbon on La Petite Academy, PIT’s on-site childcare center, and opened its doors to PIT employees. Access to quality childcare is often a barrier to employment, which is one reason PIT is thrilled to offer an on-site childcare center for working parents. We’re proud to help lead the charge in workforce development and make entering the workforce easier for parents.

It was a monumental moment in May 2023 when PIT staff signed the beam that would be used for our topping out ceremony, but spotting it in place while the terminal takes shape is also a special moment. Next, the high wood-paneled ceilings will be installed, adding to the terminal's grandeur and spaciousness. This feature will be a key element in creating an open and inviting atmosphere for travelers. The beam won't be seen anymore, but those who signed it will always know they made their mark in airport history!

The recent $300 million investment in a Pittsburgh AI startup, including money from Jeff Bezos, is just another exciting development as our region grows as a technology hub. Skild AI is developing software that enables robots to perform increasingly sophisticated tasks. If they achieve that goal, it will likely become one of the most valuable companies in the modern era. Twenty-five years ago, Allegheny County’s leadership boldly decided to choose business-style organization and agility over politics in operating our two airports. That decision has made all the difference in allowing us to transform PIT into a thriving origin and destination airport, become a leader in sustainability and accessibility, and build a new airport that will become the front door the Pittsburgh region deserves. Happy Birthday, ACAA! We haven’t aged a bit. Read more about the 25th Anniversary of ACAA in the Pittsburgh Business Times article here: https://lnkd.in/eVZiJP8a
