About us
More than 60 years ago, our founders were instrumental in developing the research methods that helped lay the groundwork for sensory science and consumer testing. The passion that drove our founders to measure and understand what consumers like (and why) still motivates us every day. We help our customers—leading global brands as well as start-ups —collect the right data and turn that data into insight; and consumer insights drive business success. Our experience in food, beverage, personal care and more, coupled with our trusted sensory and consumer research methods, allows our clients to design products that delight their consumers and build their business. You will never find a “one size fits all” solution at P&K. We customize our research with your product development goals and your brand firmly in mind. We use qualitative, quantitative, traditional and in-context research to engage consumers everywhere in the world, in-person and online. It’s made possible by P&K’s own testing facilities across the U.S. and our regional and global partners. Let's discuss how we can engage with your team to design products that delight your consumer. P&K is excited to announce a recent publication comparing traditional preference mapping techniques to a computational machine learning approach. The paper is coauthored by Vanessa Rios de Souza and Viktor Plamenov from Aigora and Richard Popper, Patti Wojnicz, and Juan Martinez from P&K. Using a case study, the paper highlights the similarities and differences between the two approaches in terms of the drivers of liking each identifies, the derived optimal sensory profile and each model's predictive power. Congratulations to all authors for an excellent collaboration. Thank you! Food trends for 2024 indicate continued consumer interest in less processed foods and sustainable nutrition alternatives. Companies that wish to target consumers that embrace a “clean eating” lifestyle may benefit from a new tool to select research participants in their product development research. The recently developed Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS) shows promise as a way to identify those consumers most interested in healthy eating. See https://lnkd.in/eDSy8yBu for a recently published study by P&K’s Jennifer Brodock, conducted at Penn State University, showing TOS norms among a large sample of North American physically active adults.
