Our Health & Human Services team was honored to host the Placer Collaborative Network for their 30th anniversary gathering this afternoon at the HHS Conference Center in Auburn. PCN has been a vital resource, bringing together nonprofit, public and private partners throughout the county to collaborate. It was great to see many familiar faces who are all crucial to the health and well-being of our community. Cheers to 30 years — and many more to come! 🎉

Join us in welcoming Paul Hellman to Team Placer as our new director of the Placer County Community Development Resource Agency! Paul’s career spans over three decades in government service including his most recent job serving as director of resource management for the Shasta County Department of Resource Management. Prior to his role in Shasta County, he served as planning manager for the City of Redding and spent a decade as a principal planner in the City of Bakersfield. Paul, a New York native, said he is excited to join Placer County because we are one of the few growing counties in the state, and it offers a unique blend of rural and urban planning opportunities that are hard to find anywhere else. “Placer County’s growth is a clear indication of the positive attributes the county possesses; protecting such attributes while accommodating well-planned, sustainable growth is at the forefront of CDRA’s mission,” he said. Fun fact: Paul is a live music enthusiast! His first concert was Van Halen in the early 1980s. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gfTAcJ8q

Though every day is employee appreciation day as far as we’re concerned, each September we take a few hours to make sure everyone knows - our peace officers, road crews, public health nurses and the hundreds of other professionals - that what we do for our communities is valued. This employee appreciation day, our staff enjoyed lunch and camping-themed games from North Lake Tahoe to Roseville. THANK YOU, Team Placer!
