About us
Play Their Way is a movement of coaches, organisations and people working to champion every child's voice, choice and journey in sport and physical activity. The Children’s Coaching Collaborative (CCC) have launched ‘Play Their Way’ to transform the way children and young people are coached in sport and physical activity, prioritising their rights, needs and enjoyment in a ‘child-first’ approach to help increase activity levels. The campaign is funded by Sport England and The National Lottery and is led by the 17 partner organisations that make up the CCC.

The value of healthy, happy children and young people is the most important thing when it comes to child-first coaching - it's amazing to see what that 'social value' would amount to as well 🙌💙
New research from Sport England has found that the annual social value of community sport and physical activity is £107.2 billion. In partnership with State of Life, Sheffield Hallam University and The Manchester Metropolitan University, Sport England's research highlights the profound social and economic benefits of sport and physical activity for communities across England. This value is made up of 😁 £96.7bn in annual wellbeing value for adults and young people taking part and volunteering in sport and physical activity 🪙 £10.5bn in wider savings to the health and social care system a year. 🙌 Great article in this quarter's CIMSPA Sport & Physical Activity Professional magazine about the state of play for young people, highlighting the positive growth in activity levels we've seen in Sport England's Active Lives survey, as well as how far we still need to go. We especially loved the 5 Pillars of Play from Les Mills UK (LMUK): 1. Make it fun 2. Make them feel like they belong 3. Make it right for age & stage 4. Give them a sense of achievement 5. Keep them physically and emotionally safe
