While it is milestone, this journey is far more than that. As Aéko reflects "before we took our first customer in 2017, there were only 2300 investment accounts in Uganda." These conditions might have led anyone to believe the narrative that Africans do not plan or save for their future, when in fact the existing landscape was guilty of exclusivity and lacking the right solutions to meet people at their financial realities. "Most of our clients never had an investment account, so we had to tailor products that meet the common needs of everyone, starting with an askari and a house help. Having access to such guidance and tools allows one to face not only any future financial oblogations, but life itself with confidence."
