POIC champions health and wellness 🍃 🏥 POIC is excited to partner with great organizations for our campus health fairs. These fairs are designed to empower our students with vital health knowledge and resources. From reproductive health education with Planned Parenthood Federation of America to insights into healthcare careers from Providence Health & Services, we’re creating a space where students can learn and grow. Our partners, including Dental Hygiene programs (PCC & MHCC) and POCA Tech’s acupuncture clinic, will share valuable information about wellness and self-care. Plus, the Mike Program provides engaging health education, connecting students with mentors who will inspire and guide them. Each partner hosted a classroom, allowing students to rotate and explore different topics throughout the day. Ready to up your skincare game? Thanks to Hey Doc Clinic, Polk Apothecary, LASH LAB PDX, and Faces by Sia Mia, Rosemary Anderson Prep East Campus hosted a skincare event to help educate our students on the importance of facial care! Investing in skincare isn't just about looking good; it's about feeling confident and healthy. A solid routine can help prevent issues, boost your glow, and protect against the elements. Remember, self-care is essential, and your skin deserves the best! This skincare lesson and the hair care seminar last week have left students feeling pampered, cared for, and informed. Once again, we are truly thankful to everyone who made this day a success!

It's that time! Hoop season is here and our boys are ready!

In an astounding transformation, the Rosemary Anderson Prep East Campus cafeteria became an all-out spa, hosting a hair care and styling event that was all about self-expression and confidence-building for our students. With the support of incredible professionals from the hair care community, students received not just free haircuts and styles but also valuable lessons in hair care. This event highlighted the importance of mentorship and community, reminding our students that they are truly valued and supported as they step into their futures. In addition to this hair care lesson, essential wellness items such as hair and skin care products, as well as laundry detergent and household cleaners, will be provided to all our students and their families. A huge thank you to Youth Voice, Youth Vote Participatory Budgeting Oregon, Montserrat from Hey Doc Clinic, Rachel from Promethean Hair Lounge, Meagan, former POIC MSW intern, and everyone who participated and helped make this day a success!

Building a better TODAY! Completing the AVIVA apartment project marks a significant step in transforming Downtown Rockwood into a vibrant community where residents can access safe and beautiful spaces. POIC is all about building a community where people can thrive and feel at home, and it is proud to be part of this space through our POIC Kitchen program.
