  • Hey fans please let us know what you think of this exterior style direction for Version 7? We do have fans of version 6 however some of you have said they wish Trident 🔱 LS-1 looked more like a traditional minivan, agree? We would still retain the retractable soft tops and optional flexible solar panel soft tops. All of the above hull body work still needs to be as light as possible. 3D printed body work on top of the same roll bar structure we've shown in earlier versions. #TridentLS1 Use this link for the latest updated video links -> https://lnkd.in/gb58M__P

  • Interesting option to get to market The term "low volume manufacturer" means a motor vehicle manufacturer (other than a person registered as an importer meeting certain requirements) that annually produces no more than 5,000 motor vehicles worldwide. https://lnkd.in/gwg2nyPF

How many companies are taking advantage of the "Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015 enacted into law in 2021"? In 2015 Congress enacted a bill into law the “Low Volume Vehicle Manufacturers Act of 2015” directing the NHSTA to establish a program allowing low volume motor vehicle manufacturers to produce a limited number of vehicles annually within a regulatory system. Although they were given one year to establish this new program, it was not until January 2021 that the NHTSA issued a final ruling to allow low volume vehicle manufacturing. The law addresses the unique safety and financial issues associated with limited production, and to direct the EPA to allow low volume motor vehicle manufacturers to install engines from vehicles that have been issued certificates of conformity. Under the act car manufacturers are exempt from all the safety standards (large reduction in required CapEx) but they must meet current emissions standards. (Not a problem for BEV companies) The term "low volume manufacturer" means a motor vehicle manufacturer (other than a person registered as an importer meeting certain requirements) that annually produces no more than 5,000 motor vehicles worldwide. We know of one company creating exciting BEVs under this new law. https://lnkd.in/ghVyzqFD https://lnkd.in/gJfCqG6y

  • Contrary to many naysayers, customers are still interested in EVs in Europe. (Perhaps France needs a different kind of EV on the market, say "amphibious hydrofoil", to counter its slight decline 😉 - #TridentLS1)

  • "DRIVING ON THE SUN" or "DRIVING ON SUNSHINE" 4 main ways to accomplish this, from most convenient to least but still accomplishing the same end goal: 1 - NEAR FUTURE BEST OPTION for most efficiency and driving range from the sun is to purchase a car that has built-in solar panels like in the Aptera Motors reverse trike or compact cab forward mini truck TELO Trucks 2 - TODAY? add a fold-out solar power system, only usable when vehicle is stopped like GoSun Jackery Yoshino Technology Inc.-inc and equivalent portable panels and battery backup systems, but trickle charge car ONLY when stopped. 3 - TODAY DIY, add solar plus battery backup to you car, like this guy has done https://lnkd.in/gcv9Md3X solar power collected and stored in backup system driving or stopped, but trickle charge car ONLY when stopped to add range. 4 - TODAY add large enough home business PV battery storage system so you charge your EV off of stored solar energy like many EVers do today. (former startup co-founder drove 70 miles per day on his stored solar power) #drivingonthesun #drivingonsunshine

Speakers at the Nautical Ventures Electrification Pavilion at the Miami Boat Show shared some insights into the electric boat market over the past few years. Some Key Takeaways: Range is not a problem. Telematics from Freedom Boat Club show that the average distance of a recreational boat trip is 8 to 12 miles. -Roger Moore, CEO Nautical Ventures Many electric boat buyers are actually first time boaters attracted by low operating costs, environmental concerns, and convenience of never having to visit a fuel dock. -Cri Boratenski, X Shore Electric boats are a viable option now, and range has not been an issue. Customers are asking if reducing their battery packs is possible as they often return from trips with 30% battery remaining. -Benjamin Sorkin CEO, Flux Marine Vision Marine is expanding overseas to the European market having secured distribution agreements. Vision is also set to break their own speed record with their new race boat. -Maxime Poudrier , Vision Marine Technologies As technology progresses electrification is becoming a viable option for recreational boaters in many use cases, however the biggest challenge is getting the word out that these boats are clean, safe, inexpensive to operate, and most importantly, fun!

  • Thanks QuantumWorks Corporation for this post about a question we get all the time - HOW DO YOU HANDLE POTENTIAL COLLISIONS WITH LARGE SUBMERGED OBJECTS? - quite relevant ;-) https://lnkd.in/ghYxFYqS

Supporting Poseidon AmphibWorks Corporation #TridentLS1 project we get this question at almost every investor presentation. How do boats handle submerged log threats and isn't it more dangerous for submerged hydrofoil boats? Some boats can handle minor impacts with submerged logs relatively unscathed, however severe damage or even sinking can occur with the wrong combination of speed, impact location, and log size. Boat hull material such as Fiberglass/Composite, Aluminum, or Steel react differently to log impacts. Fiberglass/Composite can delaminate, crack or shatter on impact, aluminum might dent or split, while steel could dent but is generally more resilient unless the impact is very forceful. Older wooden hulls might suffer from splintering or structural damage. #TridentLS1 employs the toughest workboat material known to resist such impacts, known as marine #HDPEboats so when off foils and at moderate speeds can handle collisions unscathed. Location of Impact: If the log hits near the waterline or directly under the hull, it could lead to immediate water ingress. If it strikes propeller(s) or rudder(s), it might disable the boat's propulsion or steering. FOR ALL BOATS, regular vigilance and precaution in log-infested waters are key for safety. If you are traveling in waters as shown in picture below, it would be wise to take precautions. Almost all non-foil boats do not have underwater sensors and collision avoidance systems to avoid these dangers. Many modern foil boats, compared to older models, when on foils, do in fact employ such sensor systems plus stronger materials and clever designs to mitigate damaging effects of collisions such as employing mechanical features in the foil design to safely deflect impact loads and/or allow breakaway or shear sectioned foils. #TridentLS1 has IP in this area which is quite impressive - testing will of course confirm. The best strategy to minimize damage is for onboard collision avoidance systems (detects debris, boats, buoys, markers, shore, etc.) to automatically sense oncoming danger and immediately alter course and reduce speed to get off the foils to clear the danger area. In some cases, the retractable foil systems may also be triggered to rapidly retract foils bringing the boat down to the water gently while simultaneously reducing the vehicle speed - in the case with #TridentLS1, its foil system/thrusters operates in all positions from fully retracted to slightly extended just beyond the hull bottom surface. The picture below DOES NOT SHOW THE SUBMERGED LOG danger situation. It actually shows the easiest collision avoidance case. The toughest sensing scenario for a collision avoidance system is when the log is saturated and it is submerged, not visible from the surface of the water - see this pic - https://lnkd.in/gBcnjvMN
