With six in depth panel programs, put on in collaboration with gender and racial justice organizations across New York State, the #PowHerTheVote election action series has illuminated the ways voters can make a difference for women's rights using their vote. Last week, the PowHerNY Team joined Amplify Her Foundation and over 25 philanthropic and nonprofit organizations for Give to Women and Girls Day, in an effort to increase funding for gender equity. The illuminating program highlighted that less than 2% of charitable funding goes toward organizations supporting women and girls, and featured Valerie Jarrett, CEO of the Obama Foundation accepting the Glassbreaker Award, and Maria Torres-Springer, First Deputy Mayor of New York City, among other excellent speakers. PowHer New York was proud to be highlighted in a fantastic video in the program, and to be recognized as an Amplify Her Foundation grantee for a second year.
