Kevin Braun has been named our senior vice president, operations. Braun, formerly our senior vice president, industrial coatings segment, succeeds Ramaprasad Vadlamannati, who announced his intention to retire after 25 years with our company. “I want to congratulate Ram on a successful career with PPG and thank him for his many contributions,” said Tim Knavish, our chairman and CEO. “Ram has been a trusted leader, friend and advisor to me over the last 25 years and in particular as we’ve increased our focus on PPG’s global operations. I also want to recognize Kevin on his next leadership role as we remain focused on strengthening our global operations and the key functions that are a part of this team. This is a critical area of our growth strategy, and I am confident that Kevin and his team will deliver.” In his new role, Braun will lead the operations organization that includes our supply chain, operational excellence, manufacturing operations, procurement, and environment, health and safety functions. He will also maintain executive oversight accountability for packaging coatings, and specialty coatings and materials. #PPGproud

The third year of our New Paint for a New Start initiative, part of our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program, has concluded with 27 school and learning space transformations completed. Over the past three months, our employee volunteers, community members and customer partners have come together to beautify classrooms, create vivid murals, invest in students' success and create spaces where learning and inspiration can flourish. We donated more than 6,200 gallons of our paint products to complete the school makeovers. Members of our leadership were recently joined by our employees, customers, supply partners and local government officials for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of our PPG Advanced Surface Technologies New Albany facility. Located in New Albany, Ohio, the 78,000-square-foot site will include manufacturing, warehousing, administrative offices and an application center of excellence for the film solutions offered by PPG Advanced Surface Technologies. “This plant will be home to leading-edge technology, best-in-class production, and most importantly, an incredible workplace for our employees,” said Daniel Bencun, our CEO of PPG Advanced Surface Technologies, during his opening remarks. “By opening this facility, we are not only expanding our capacity but also creating new jobs, stimulating local economic growth, and reinforcing our company's commitment to excellence and innovation.” After the ribbon cutting, those in attendance toured the new facility where they learned about the unique features of paint film and how it can complement our portfolio of products. #PPGproud #ProtectandBeautify

Our employee volunteers continue to beautify learning environments around the world as part of our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program’s New Paint for a New Start initiative. In Budapest, Hungary, volunteers revitalized a primary and vocational school that serves children with disabilities. Volunteers painted a mural inspired by traditional folktales, the dining room, gym and other areas using our HÉRA™ paint by PPG. In Wroclaw, Poland, our volunteers created a new outdoor classroom for primary school students. They painted benches and murals using our DEKORAL® by PPG paints. Our Surinamese team in Paramaribo refreshed the interior and exterior of a primary school using our sustainably advantaged products, including Aqua-Lak from HISTOREX™ paint by PPG. Volunteers also painted an environmental-themed mural.
