This year marks the 20th anniversary of our Ergo Cup® competition. Each year, our employees from around the world submit improvement projects that have minimized or eliminated ergonomic risks at their workplaces to be considered for this award. This year’s winner is the Automotive OEM team at our Valladolid, Spain, plant. Engineers at the plant developed a new design for portable tanks that allow electric pallet trucks to lift and move the tanks, eliminating the need for manual handling and thus significantly reducing the risk for injuries. The first COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® project of 2025 took place in the town of A-dos-Cunhados in Portugal, along the annual business sales convention. Thanks to 50+ employee volunteers and our customers, ASPA - Associação de Solidariedade e Promoção de Adoscunhados, a private institution of social solidarity that provides support to children aged between 18 months and 10 years, shines with newness. Our Renner Paints by PPG were recently used to bring color and brightness to a new cultural landmark in Porto Alegre, Brazil. The mural honors Brazilian singer and songwriter Lupicínio Rodrigues. Our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program is celebrating 10 years of positive impact. During the last decade, nearly 30,000 volunteers have helped our communities thrive by completing ~600 projects around the world using about 65,000 gallons of paint. Employee volunteers from our Malaysia Technology Centre recently teamed with EPIC Homes to build a home in three days for a family of five in a nearby village as part of our COLORFUL COMMUNITIES® program. Our team of 30 volunteers started with a workshop to familiarize themselves with the building tools, then constructed the home section by section, including the foundation, roof, walls, floors, windows and doors. Our employees then proudly applied a protective coat of our PPG SUN PROOF® paint to the home.
