Prairie Meadows and Polk County proudly awarded a $570,000 Legacy Grant to the Great Outdoors Foundation for the Streambank Stabilization initiative to Protect People, Property, and the Planet. This project will activate positive change in local water quality, which directly impacts drinking water accessibility, recreational opportunities, and environmental health, all of which contribute to the vibrancy and vitality of our community. The Great Outdoors Foundation is leading Iowa's longest stream restoration, covering 19 sites across Fourmile, Little Fourmile, Camp, Mud, and Spring Creeks in eastern Polk County. We are proud to invest in projects like this that benefit central Iowans and for the betterment of our communities. #SeeOurImpact

Last week we celebrated the grand opening of our new 8-court lighted pickleball complex at Hickory Glen Park in City of Pleasant Hill, Iowa! A huge thank you to Snyder & Associates, Inc., especially Clay Schneckloth and Steven Seefeld, for their support throughout this project, as well as Elder Corporation and Brandon Stevens for their outstanding work in bringing our ideas to life. The project also wouldn't have been possible without the impactful $100,000 Legacy Grant award from Prairie Meadows, which continues their investment in our community's outdoor spaces. A special shout-out to Eastern Polk County Pickleball Club and USA Pickleball, particularly Rod Smith and Steve Stone, for their support and collaboration in making this facility a reality. The feedback we received from those at the ribbon cutting emphasized how we listened to the community's needs and did our homework to create a top-notch facility. This complex is more than just a place to play; it’s a hub for connection, competition, and community. Let’s play some pickleball! 🏓
