I had the opportunity to attend this training on Teaching at the right level approach (TaRL) delivered by Pratham International. I must say it was an enriching experience. The trainers were incredibly knowledgeable, and the participants were highly engaged, making the entire process dynamic and enjoyable. I believe this project, focused on Girls and Out-of-School Children - Action for Learning, has the potential to significantly impact our education system. I am truly grateful to ITA and the British Council for the opportunity to contribute, even in a small way, to this impactful initiative. ASER 2024 is out! This year’s report reached 649,491 children in 17,997 villages across 605 rural districts in India. The 2024 survey retains the core elements of the ASER architecture: it is a sample-based rural household survey done by local organizations and institutions in each district, conducted one-on-one with each sampled child using simple and easy to administer tools and formats. The ‘basic’ ASER survey, facilitated by Pratham, generates district, state and national level estimates of the enrollment status of 3 to 16-year-old children, and basic reading and arithmetic skills of 5 to 16-year-old children. For young children, the survey tracks participation in early childhood education. For older children aged 14-16, for the first time, the survey generates representative estimates of digital access, usage, and skills. PadhAI enables offline use without compromising on privacy — highlighting the potential of AI-powered tools to address literacy gaps and empower individuals to support children’s learning needs in diverse contexts.
