Ashley Ray. #PCSCHERO Friday, September 27th was Ashley's day off but she went into work regardless of the storm and said "I have to go in, those residents are my people." It took Ashley an hour to get into work. As the Dining Room supervisor, Ashley wanted to ensure that all of the residents were provided a warm meal and that it was as normal of a dining experience as possible. Working with the dining team and the housekeeping team, they were also able to have warm meals delivered to those residents unable to get to the dining room. Ashley mentioned, "We actually had a really good time together and we knew we had to make it work." Thank you Ashley from #PCSC and #TheFoothillsRetirementCommunity!

Brittany, Ashley, and Candace. #PCSCHEROES On the early morning of September 27, when Hurricane Helene was making its way into the upstate, Brittany, ADON, Ashley, DON and Candace, Clinical Support Coordinator had nothing on their mind other than getting into work and being present for their residents at #TheFoothillsRetirementCommunity. What is usually a 15 minute commute for Brittany took over an hour and half due to high winds, falling trees and rerouting more than six times. When asked her #WHY, she stated, "I am not going to leave my residents in the dark, I am going in to be there for them." Ashley was dropped off as close as she could get to the community and then walked through the woods in the storm to get to work, her rain are boots still siting in her office several days later. Candace stated that " It was critical for all hands on deck to be here, we stayed calm...not panicking is the key!" With the leadership of these three team members, the residents in Health Care were safe during one of the worst storms the upstate has ever seen. Thank you from #PCSC and #TheFoothillsRetirementCommunity!

Willie Campbell. #PCSCHERO Willie leads the Facilities and Maintenance team at #TheClintonPresbyterianCommunity. During, and after Hurricane Helene's aftermath, he worked tirelessly to ensure that the generators were working and that the residents were safe. Willie was present at the community every day and night clearing debris, maintaining the generators and assisting with the residents needs and questions. The dedication that Willie exemplifies is not a surprise, as his loyalty and commitment to this community has been evident for 30+ years, but, during this time, his positivity, presence and constant smile meant more to his team and residents than words can express. Thank you from #PCSC and #TheClintonPresbyterianCommunity!

Mark and Stephen Byers. #PCSCHEROES When Hurricane Helene hit the upstate of South Carolina, Stephen and Mark showed up to ensure that the residents of #TheFoothillsRetirementCommunity were safe. Mark, who has served 11 years, arrived shortly before the storm started causing destruction and was preparing the community for potential flooding and wind damage. Mark states, " I knew we were going to potentially have damage and I wanted to be there." Stephen, who has served 9 years, arrived to find that he was unable to get to the community due to trees in the road. Stephen created a path to get to the community by removing debris which assisted with other team members being able arrive safely. Both stated that this was the worst storm they had seen in their time at Foothills. Thank you from #PCSC and #TheFoothillsRetirementCommunity for your service!

“AJ Floyd. #PCSCHERO On day two of starting her new job at #TheClintonPresbyterianCommunity, Hurricane Helene hit the town of Clinton, SC. Although AJ did not have transportation to work on that day, she walked two and a half miles during the storm to work. Even though she was brand new on the job and on day two of training, she showed up ready to serve the residents in whatever capacity was needed. When asked her #WHY?, AJ stated “ I knew I had to be there, I was scared but I was physically able to get to work and so I went.” Her fellow employees have said that AJ had a smile on her face the entire day and even assisted with leading activities. Thank you, AJ from all of us at #PCSC and #TheClintonPresbyterianCommunity!
