Thank you @HumaneAnimalRescueofPittsburgh for visiting Woodside Place of Oakmont and educating us on Wildlife! Sandi and Katie from the HARP Wildlife Center in Verona talked to our residents about the Wildlife Rehab program. The residents learned about their entire rehabilitation process, had the chance to feel some animal-related objects, like feathers and furs and got to see one of their education ambassadors, Vedder, the Eastern Box turtle. #neverstoplearning #wildlife #animalrescue

Our Oakmont campus recently held a Skills Fair for all team members to improve their competencies in care. Stations included best practices for safe resident transfers and bed positioning, how to care for fragile skin, catheter care, infection prevention, and the proper use of mechanical lifts, such as the Sara Lift and hoyer. There were also special sections on dementia and delirium and the elements of being an Age-Friendly Health System. Trainings like this help our team members stay up to date on the latest care techniques to better serve our residents and their needs. ❤️ #teammembertuesday
