Connecting organizations and LGBTQ+ professionals to create thriving workplace cultures.
About us
Pride in Our Workplace connects LGBTQ+ professionals and allied organizations to create thriving workplace cultures. More than 75% of people believe that diversity and inclusion offers a competitive advantage and plenty of studies back them up. However, LGBTQ+ individuals are still underrepresented at every stage of management. Pride in Our Workplace provides LGBTQ+ professionals with ways to amplify their voices and drive positive change. By centering the LGBTQ+ perspective within our most important conversations, we help LGBTQ+ professionals and allied businesses enjoy the benefits of celebrating pride in the workplace. We spotlight important, often unheard points of view on timely issues, help connect LGBTQ+ professionals with one another, and provide businesses with the tools they need to grow and thrive. Pride in Our Workplace is a Massachusetts nonprofit and a 501(c)(3) organization comprised of LGBTQ+ professionals and allies from industry-leading companies in New England.

Manager, Internal Communications @ HarbourVest Partners | Communications Designer | Employee Engagement and Culture
Last night I had the opportunity to attend Pride in Our Workplace (PIOW)'s panel on Promoting Civic Engagement with HarbourVest Partners SVP and fellow HVPRIDE member, Alicia Curran Sweeney. I really appreciate this organization and am honored to partner with them; they continue to bring critical LGBTQ+ conversations to the surface and into corporate environments where it's needed most. Thank you for hosting such a powerful conversation, PIOW! It was inspiring to hear the stories of the panelists, the work they're doing, and take home some ways to uplift my fellow colleagues and our community. #communitybuilding #prideinourworkplace

Our founder, Wilnelia Rivera will be moderating a panel discussion tomorrow on traditional and alternative forms of civic engagement and the connections it can form between our workplaces and the communities we work with. Panelists from Transgender Emergency Fund of MA, Eastern Bank and The Queer Neighborhood Council will share strategies for companies to foster inclusion and support civic efforts and community engagement year-round. At Rivera Consulting, we often need to innovate with our approaches when engaging with community stakeholders and are excited to be a part of conversation that will emphasize the importance of intentional connections between workplaces and communities. As a LGBTQ+ small business ourselves, we value Pride in Our Workplace (PIOW)'s focus on reaching LGBTQ+ communities, allies, and the organizations that support them! Join us at 89 South St, Boston MA tomorrow, Oct 16 at 6pm by reserving a spot here: https://lnkd.in/g_NhP57R

Ahead of National Coming Out Day, you may be asking yourself - how can I tell if it is safe for me to come out at work? To come out to my manager and teammates? Coming out is an ongoing process and there are no guarantees of how people will react if you share information about your identity. Luckily, there are red and green flags you can look in your company’s culture to help make an informed decision about when and how to share aspects of your personal life and #LGBTQ+ identity.
