Congratulations to the four Prime Healthcare hospitals that have been recognized among hospitals nationwide with a zero-infection rate for Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). These hospitals — Paradise Valley Hospital (CA), Shasta Regional Medical Center (CA), St. Mary's General Hospital (NJ), and Harlingen Medical Center (TX) — have implemented effective measures to prevent the spread of MRSA, which is an antibiotic-resistant bacteria that remains a serious public health concern. To maintain these results, hospitals follow strict infection control protocols, including: - Frequent handwashing by healthcare workers - Encouraging visitors to maintain hand hygiene - Proper handling of wounds and personal items - Comprehensive cleaning and use of disposable medical equipment This achievement reflects Prime Healthcare's commitment to providing high-quality, safe care to patients across the country.

As temperatures begin to rise this summer, it's important to stay hydrated and cool to avoid heat-related illnesses. Excessive heat can be quite dangerous, leading to exhaustion or stroke, as well as exacerbating other medical conditions. Our teams encourage our communities to drink plenty of water, eat foods with high water content, like watermelon or zucchini, and stay out of the sun for extended periods of time. If you do plan on participating in outdoor activities, avoid the hottest parts of the day, stay in shaded areas, and take frequent breaks. Seek medical care immediately if you begin experiencing heat-related problems and dial 9-1-1 for emergencies. Let's make the most of the summer sun while staying safe and refreshed!
