Procurated’s new office … … is just two blocks from this famous office building. 🏛️ The DC commercial real estate market has really plummeted 📉 since the start of COVID with high vacancy rates downtown. This has been cataclysmic for the restaurants and shops that depend on business from office workers 😭. But on the bright side, it has given businesses an opportunity to upgrade their space and reduce expenses. The CEO in me is excited to have found even nicer space for our colleagues to do the best work of their careers. The space is beautiful, bright 🪟 and supports collaboration🫸🫷. I’m a big believer that thoughtful workspaces can bring teams together and lead to great innovation🔬 and productivity ⚙️. The former chief procurement officer in me loved the opportunity to dust off my procurement hat and negotiate a deal with the landlord that actually reduced our costs by about 20%, even with the upgraded space. Old habits died hard. If you’re in DC, come on over.

Welcome to Procurated's 2024 Summer interns - Jennifer Lo and Omar Bounana! Both of them have already made a big impact in the first few weeks since joining the team - tagging in to contribute on Data, Marketing, BizOps, and more! In a startup environment where everyone pitches in, both Jennifer and Omar are great team additions and we are so lucky to have them. Jennifer attends the UW Foster School of Business and is majoring in Information Systems and Supply Chain & Operations Management. She lives in Seattle and enjoys badminton, reading, and cooking. Her favorite ice cream flavor is matcha. Omar is attending the University of Oklahoma for a dual degree (BBA Management Information Systems/ MSc Management Information Technology). He's originally from Marrakech, loves baking, reading, and lemon ice cream. We are so glad to have them on our team - helping to transform #governmentprocurement while learning all about #govtech startup life!
