Negotiation is when two or more people work together to find a solution that everyone can agree on. It's not just about getting the best price or winning an argument—it's about finding ways to meet everyone's needs as much as possible. Types of Negotiation ☑ Win-Lose One side tries to get the most, while the other loses out Often used when there's a fixed amount to split Example: Bargaining for a lower price on a used car ☑ Win-Win Both sides look for ways to benefit Focuses on what each side really needs, not just what they say they want Example: Two companies working together on a new product ☑ Fair Play Uses clear rules to make decisions Tries to be fair to everyone involved Example: Countries making agreements on trade rules ☑ Group Talks Many different people or groups involved Need to find agreement among all parties Example: City planners, businesses, and residents discussing a new park ☑ Team Talks Groups talking to other groups Need to agree within the team and with the other team Example: Sports leagues and player unions discussing contracts ☑ Across Cultures People from different backgrounds working together Need to understand and respect different ways of doing things Example: A US company and a Japanese company making a deal ☑ Go-Between Talks Someone helps carry messages between groups that won't talk directly Used when it's hard for groups to meet face-to-face Example: A mediator helping settle an argument between neighbors Remember: Every negotiation is a chance to turn a disagreement into a solution that works for everyone. #negotiation
