An organization to promote a healthy and vigorous relationship between the aerospace industry and Government agencies.
About us
The Professional Aerospace Contractors Association (PACA) of New Mexico was founded in 1984 to promote a healthy and vigorous relationship between the aerospace industry and Government agencies. Since then it has become widely recognized and used by all Government agencies in the area as a forum for interaction with the aerospace, defense, and related national industries. PACA has a robust membership of aerospace, defense, and related professionals, representing virtually every element of the aerospace and defense industry. Members come from large and small businesses, as well as minority, women-owned, veteran-owned, and disadvantaged small businesses. PACA is a 501c(6) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of New Mexico. PACA, a politically non-partisan organization, represents the interests of its membership as a whole and, while doing so, does not advocate or represent special interest groups or a particular member company. It is 100% volunteer operated, and commits all residual funds to science programs and scholarships throughout the state.

To my colleagues with recruiting and hiring needs in New Mexico: Through Professional Aerospace Contractors Association of New Mexico (PACA NM), I am building a public/private coalition of aerospace government organizations and private aerospace companies who have challenges in recruiting and hiring mid-to-senior level staff. (In other words, this is not about growing a STEM pipeline which is being handled by other efforts.) I’m calling this the Technical-talent Recruiting for Aerospace Coalition, or TRAC for short. This coalition is led by PACA, and co-sponsored by the Albuquerque Regional Economic Alliance, the SpaceValley Foundation, and NewSpace Nexus. The TRAC campaign endeavors to: -Identify the full range of aerospace entities with recruiting and hiring needs in New Mexico, -Leverage substantial work already done by AREA to assist coalition members with top, pro-New Mexico recruiting materials, -Work with the SpaceValley Foundation on help with recruiting packages supported by NM hospitality and other industries in the state to attract talent for select, senior positions, -Launch a comprehensive study with the support of AREA and their existing access to national talent databases to understand demographics and labor markets as they pertain to the talent needs of the coalition, -Target the identified out-of-state talent markets with a pro-New Mexico advertising campaign, and -Culminate in a hybrid virtual and in-person hiring fair in 2025. I am working closely with the above sponsors to get a more accurate projection of what: 1. Is already paid for/done/in work 2. What we could collectively get additional state funds to pay for, and 3. What cost-sharing might be needed from coalition members. (So there are some unknowns at this time.) The QR code below will take you to a very short Google form survey. I am asking interested parties to complete the 5-question survey to indicate interest to guide my conversations with the other sponsors. More details can be found in the slides at the link in the first comment. I look forward to your feedback!
