While many people, funds, and institutions 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 at least one sports asset…there are still relatively few thematic players. And that makes sense, given the asset class is still relatively new: • PE firms are about 15 years old • VC firms are about a decade old • Sports team-specific PE firms are about 4 years old 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗶𝘅 𝗯𝘂𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘁𝘀:  ❶ SportsTech VC - invest solely in SportsTech companies ❷ Accelerators - take equity upfront to build into their network ❸ Banks - institutional investors helping to commoditize the space ❹ Nation States - global players like Saudi Arabia deploying into sports ❺ Old PE - invest $50M+ to acquire majority stakes in sports assets/tech ❻ New PE - invest $100M+ to buy minority stakes in traditional sports teams Check out the FULL BRIEFING HERE: https://lnkd.in/egcK_tvp

The youth sports market is projected to hit $69B by 2030... And this is pushing 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 products/people into the space. Just yesterday, Fastbreak.ai announced they're entering youth sports with the acquisition of Tourney Pro. 𝗙𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝘆𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗱 (𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝘄): • Pro Leagues (NBA, NHL) • Mid-Tier Leagues (AHL, MLP) • College (SEC, A-10, AAC, etc) • Now entering the broad space of youth sports via acquisition And this makes sense... Youth sports leagues face 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘰𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 scheduling challenges as professional leagues, including travel logistics, venue management, and competitive balance.
