3 of my personal highlights from #PLTWSummit 2024, where we hosted >1600 guests from 48 states...What were your highlights?
PLTW is an organization focused on empowering students and transforming the teaching experience – a proud tradition from the start of the organization that continues today. Since 1997, we have grown from a high school engineering program to offering comprehensive PreK-12 pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science. PLTW’s world-class, activity-, project-, and problem-based curriculum gives students a chance to apply what they know, identify problems, find unique solutions, and lead their own learning, rather than be passive recipients of information in a question-and-answer, right-or-wrong learning environment. In addition to our innovative curriculum, one of the most unique aspects of our programs is the engaging, rigorous professional development for teachers. We offer five programs of study: PLTW Launch (grades PreK-5), PLTW Gateway (middle school), PLTW Biomedical Science (high school), PLTW Computer Science (high school), and PLTW Engineering (high school). PLTW has 14,000 programs in 11,500 schools, serving millions of students and training over 55,000 teachers.

Hands-on STEM learning is an outstanding springboard for exploration and growth, especially in the early grades. At Project Lead The Way (PLTW) we want to make sure your Spanish-speaking students have equitable access to those learning experiences, which put students on a path to careers that earn $20k more on average annually than non-STEM careers. ------- “We are a predominantly 96% Hispanic community… [and] are highly underrepresented in the STEM fields. When I saw what my students were able to do with Project Lead The Way, I just knew that this kind of program could change trajectories.” Jessica Reyes, PLTW Launch Teacher Santa Ana USD in Santa Ana, CA Get free STEM activities below! https://hubs.li/Q02RwldR0

I love my school, curriculum, and the team of educators I work with. Thank you to the Project Lead The Way organization for all the inclusion and opportunities you have provided myself and students.

What a great experience to be able to present at the 2024 #PLTWSummit alongside my colleague Angela Anderson, Ed.D. and three fantastic Project Lead The Way teachers. Thank you to Vanitha Gaurishanker, Kaitlen Farruggia, and Kalina Moore for sharing your experiences on “The Power of Partnerships” to provide experiential learning opportunities for your students. The work you are doing with your local partners is amazing. Special thanks to our Project Lead The Way #Events Team for allowing us to also deliver this session via Live-Stream so attendees who couldn’t make it in person could engage with us. #communityconnections #workbasedlearning #teacherpd

We had an amazing response to our session, Experience Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging in PLTW Curriculum, at the Project Lead The Way Summit yesterday. I was honored to present alongside Dr. Portia Newman and Jason Rausch. PLTW is committed to developing curriculum that champions DEIB and we were overwhelmed by the engagement of Summit participants who joined us to learn about our strategic curriculum diversity objective. The participants shared best practices and engaged one another on solutions to engage all students in STEM. #PLTW #STEMeducation
