Eddy Curry shows us how #SportsSpeakUp as he advocates for the release of 1 year old Kfir #Bibas and his family. The ex-NBAer, who played five seasons with the New York Knicks, Inc. and won an National Basketball Association (NBA) championship with the LeBron James-led Miami HEAT in 2012, has visited #Israel with his wife to learn first hand about the hateful events of #Oct7Massacre. Having lost his infant baby girl to gun violence in 2009, Curry knows first hand what devastating loss feels like. This is part of what drove Eddy to join Project Max and help fight racism, antisemitism and intolerance through sports. As the #ParisOlympics are about to begin it's clear that these games will be challenging and not for the right reasons. There should be no hate and violence in #sports - these are just the opposites of the values of excellence, endurance and devotion that the #OlympicGames represent. But already there are serious threats on the safety of the games in general and towards the Israeli delegate in specific. As the #Olympics games are about to begin in #Paris there are those that would like to turn this sports celebration to a hateful event. Athletes on the Israeli Olympics delegation received threats to their private emails warning them that the terror events of the 1972 Munich games, where 11 Israeli athletes were murdered by terrorists will repeat themselves in Paris. All this while the head of the Israeli delegation Oren Smadja is grieving for his son, Omer, that lost his life in Gaza fighting Hamas terrorists just a month ago. There is no room for hate and antisemitism in sports and this should be condemned by all.

Eddy Curry confronts #antisemitism head on, visits #Israel to raise awareness to the hostages in #Gaza and calls for their immediate release. It's been a busy week for Project Max's Ambassador, former Miami HEAT player Eddy Curry in #Israel. From basketball camp in Jerusalem with Tamir Goodman, to supporting the calls to bring the hostages home from Gaza and learning about saving lives at United Hatzalah of Israel. Thank you so much Eddy for speaking up against hate and antisemitism. Thank you for caring and hearing about the Bibas family (Yarden, Shiri and their young kids Ariel and Kfir) and Or Levy - all still held in Gaza for 279 days. History is filled with terrible injustices - but acknowledging these wrongs is the first step towards building a better future. As we celebrate #Juneteenth today I'm proud of the work we're doing at Project Max to bring communities together and fight against hate in sports and beyond.
