Discussing the continued success of football in Colombia. 🙌 FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström met with the former President of Colombia Iván Duque at the Home of FIFA in Zurich, Switzerland, to discuss the continued development of football in Colombia. Grafström said: “It was great to host Iván Duque and discuss the recent successes of football in Colombia and how FIFA can continue to support them on their journey. We thank everyone in Colombia for their continued support in empowering players and giving them the chance to showcase their talents to the world."

Introducing FIFA Music Ambassador: Robbie Williams! 🎶 English singer-songwriter and global pop megastar Robbie Williams will collaborate with FIFA on several new music projects for official FIFA tournaments and events, including the FIFA Club World Cup™! 🙌 The announcement was made at the kick-off event for the FIFA Club World Cup Trophy Tour in New York. Williams will perform a song for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, which will take place in the United States from 14 June to 13 July. Speaking about his excitement ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup, Williams said: “Whenever there is a summer without football, I get very, very bored. It actually feels lonely without football, but yet here we are. “Thank you, FIFA, for creating this for me so I don’t feel lonely in the summer. I guess that football is my security blanket and what better than this massive competition this summer. I can’t wait to watch.”

Providing best-practice training environments for young players around the world with the FIFA Talent Development Scheme 💪 The FIFA Talent Development Scheme aims to help member associations fulfil their potential by ensuring that every talented player has the chance to be detected and developed. The FIFA Talent Academy in Bahrain is one of the over 20 operational FIFA Talent Academies, with the aim of having 75 in place by the end of 2027. FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, Arsène Wenger, said: “The ultimate objectives of FIFA Talent Academies are to develop young players by providing them with the highest levels of training, education and development to help them reach their full potential, contributing to the overall growth of football in the country.” Learn more about the FIFA Talent Development Scheme ⬇️

Inspiring staff at the Home of FIFA! 🙌 Last week, FIFA Head of Women’s Refereeing Bibiana Steinhaus-Webb led the first Game Changers event of 2025 at the Home of FIFA in Zurich. The hour-long masterclass, launched as part of a series in 2023, is designed to give the FIFA team access to some of the world’s foremost business and management speakers, to inspire best practice, professional growth and cultural transformation. Steinhaus-Webb, the first woman to referee a FIFA Women’s World Cup™ final and a Women’s Olympic Football Tournament final, reflected on her own career during the session and shared her hopes for the future of women’s refereeing. She said: “It doesn’t matter if the leaders are male or female. It’s not about your gender. So, with more and more female (referees) coming through, people get more used to it. And, it’s more accepted because they are doing a fantastic job.”

Discussing the future of women's football 🙌 FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström met National Women's Soccer League Commissioner Jessica Berman in New York to discuss the future of the women's game and how further progress can be made. Founded in 2012, the NWSL has established itself as one of the leading leagues in the world — and will expand to include 16 teams from 14 in 2026. At the meeting, FIFA Secretary General Grafström discussed strategies to enhance the league's impact and visibility globally within the women's game. Grafström said: "Women's football is no longer just a growing part of the game; it's becoming a cornerstone of football's future. Through collaboration with the NWSL, FIFA and our global stakeholders, we are committed to creating a sustainable ecosystem that empowers players, engages fans, and showcases the talent which is shaping women's football."

Paying tribute to a legend of the game at the Football Writers’ Association Awards 👏 FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström and FIFA Chief of Global Football Development Arsène Wenger were both present as footballing legend Dennis Bergkamp received the Football Writers’ Association Tribute Award for his achievements during his 11-year spell at Arsenal FC. Bergkamp claimed three English Premier League titles and three FA Cups during his time at Arsenal. He also played and scored at two FIFA World Cups, including netting one of the most dramatic match-winning goals of all-time as the Netherlands beat defending champions Argentina in the quarter-finals at the 1998 tournament in France. FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström said: “It is a great honour for me and for FIFA to be here to recognise one of the greatest playmakers we have seen.” Arsène Wenger, who managed Dennis Bergkamp for 10 years at Arsenal, gave a speech in tribute to his former player: “That mark you put in the hearts of people who love football all over the world, is absolutely second to none and is remembered everywhere. The FIFA Club World Cup™ Trophy Tour is officially underway! 🏆 The Trophy Tour was launched at The Landmark, Tiffany & Co.’s flagship store in New York, marking the historic five-month global journey that will see the trophy visit the home cities of all 32 competing clubs around the world. FIFA President Gianni Infantino and FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström were in attendance alongside presidents, CEOs and guests from participating clubs and FIFA commercial and media partners.
