What makes an inclusive leader? What traits and competencies are really needed, to lead diverse teams and create workplaces that succeed? When we talk about Promoting Good, we are talking about truly knowing what it means—and what it takes—to foster environments where everyone can thrive. But as leaders, do we understand well enough how to make impactful change? How do we get there? The journey to inclusive leadership can feel complex. That’s why we and our research partners developed a framework to facilitate understanding and growth based on a set of eight traits that are innate in all of us. All leaders possess and express these traits to different degrees—and that’s where the work comes in. Learning how to use where we’re already strong, and growing competencies to address our gaps, is the only way each of us can get where we want to be. The #8traits of Inclusive Leadership are: Commitment Flexibility Humility Conscientiousness Collaborative Curiosity Empathy Courage In the coming months, you’ll be hearing more from our team about these eight traits.
