Our Household Pulse Survey surveys thousands of households with low-incomes about their food, financial, and housing security. What did they tell us in August 2024? There's some good news--financial, and housing insecurity are all down compared to one year ago: *Owing money to family & friends declined by 16.5% *Eating less declined by 10% *Evictions declined by 23% We also have our first feedback from recipients of the #SUNBucks #SummerEBT program, including quotes like this one from a Propel user in Louisiana--"It helped tremendously with groceries for me and my daughter right when we really needed it." 10 years! Such immense gratitude to everyone who has contributed to the Propel journey over the past decade - current and former employees, customers, investors, partners, advisors. It's our 10th anniversary! We marked the occasion by announcing a major rebrand and name change. The Providers app is now called Propel. It's a simpler name, and it's more transparent for our users. It's been an amazing ride so far, and we're just getting started. We're building out new security features to protect EBT benefits, including suspicious transaction monitoring — a feature exclusive to our app. We're also thrilled to announce a $3.5M grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which will allow us to harness the power of AI to help Americans navigate the safety net.
