"When we first started with Propel, no one was on board, no one wanted an eQMS. I decided to switch to Propel because we could have more configurability. We could be more creative, to bring products to market in a new, effective way. Talking to your teams is the best practice you can do, being with them on the ground level to implement these processes." During our panel of 'change agents' at #Propulsion2024, Diana Sehawneh, Continuous Innovation Manager at MaryRuth's, explained how she turned her colleagues around on their need for an eQMS. Today, the same simplicity that once fueled the success of #MasterControlQMS is now its greatest limitation. MasterControl’s system is built for basic consistency and control—essential for industries like #medicaldevices navigating rigid standards and regulatory requirements. But now, the industry has evolved to become more complex, and so have the needs of QMS users. Fast-moving companies don’t view QMS as a standalone collection of processes, but rather as an integral part of a complete product record that spans from concept to customer. Here are four areas where the cracks in MasterControl's foundation are starting to show: 1️⃣ Configurability Challenges | Users are stuck with what they have, and any attempts to modify the system to better fit evolving business processes often result in delays and frustration. 2️⃣ Scaling Limitations | MasterControl’s overly simplistic structure—including its overreliance on simple building blocks like the InfoCard—has serious implications for scalability. 3️⃣ A Standalone System | Without integration with PLM, the result is a disjointed approach to quality that fails to close the loop between product development, production, and quality control. 4️⃣ On-Prem in a Cloud Disguise | Scaling is limited by the original design of the legacy system, and integrating with other cloud-native services may be more complex and require additional adaptation work. Propel is thrilled to announce our second major software release of 2024, transforming how businesses create, market, sell, and service products. What's New >> 👉 Product Information Management (PIM) API endpoints provide efficient and comprehensive access to categories, channels, digital assets, products, variants, and their attributes, ensuring product data is accurate and up to date anywhere in the lifecycle. 👉 Propel Collections enables product companies to strengthen communication across internal and external teams with quick and easy data gathering, without the need for coding. 👉 With support for PDX (product data eXchange), Propel PDX provides an XML-based industry standard data-sharing format across systems within the business and with partner organizations such as original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) or suppliers. “We enable customers to securely and efficiently embrace a range of data-sharing options to advance their business,” said Eric Schrader, Chief Product Officer. "With product data exchange (PDX) for communication to and from PLM systems, to turnkey supplier communities for engaging partners, to a rich set of application programming interfaces (APIs) for ingesting and distributing product information – our approach meets customers where they are.” Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/eqDiUFmJ

Custom-engineered product companies have a unique opportunity to fuel growth. They also face a unique challenge when it comes to heightened needs for in-house collaboration. The key to a successful engineered-to-order product — alignment between sales and engineering. 🤝 When both teams understand the desired outcome and their role in achieving that outcome, it’s easier to manage a project from start to finish. The sales team is on the front line, and it’s their job to convince potential customers that the company can meet their needs. However, their desire to close a deal can lead to a less-than-perfect customer experience if what they promise is out of scope with the capabilities of engineering teams. This is why sales teams must evolve how they communicate and collaborate with engineering teams—beyond merely relying on sales engineers to do the go-between work for them. Here's how your business can support better collaboration between these two core teams: https://lnkd.in/eaF5dXsp

Say it louder for the people in the back 👏 👏 👏 This message is on point, Beth LeClerc! A must-read for the many businesses that are still much too comfortable with complacency—at a detriment to their growth.

VP, Business Systems Architecture & Web Services - Savant Systems

A week home from #Dreamforce and I have had about 26 minutes meeting-free to reflect on the time that Angela Larson and I had immersed in Salesforce's unparalleled event. Truth is, I probably don't need more than the 26 minutes because everything we saw, everything we learned, everything we shared confirms the story Propel Software asked us to allot: the prioritization of business applications and business application resources is essential to a successful business. I've known forever that Savant Systems' prioritization of our business systems is a natural result of supporting the development of the most innovative and ground-breaking products and strategies in the smart home & power industries. What I think Dreamforce opened my eyes to: there are SO few companies willing to step outside of the box that "IT" has been confined to (for reasons I do not get) to allow that same realization in their own businesses. The amount of people that are shocked by the story of collaboration driving both business process and business application usage that Angie and I tell is outright shocking to me. You can pick literally almost anything that you do in your daily, personal life and correlate it to a business's precedence of remaining relevant and driving revenue -- you know when the pediatrician's office is managing everything from check-in/check-out to scheduling to communicating with you via an App, they're moving with the times. Modernization is not limited to home automation technology AT ALL - we just have to do it faster than anyone else (at least it feels that way). If you are an employee managing a business application and you do not have a seat at the planning table, roll your chair from your cube to that table. If you are an employer and you have your business application management and maintenance team shoved in cubicles waiting for some business unit to hand them a PRD, put them at the table. If both the application you are using and the process that application is supporting is 10, 20, 30 years old, it is not "right" because it is not broken. (It may even be wrong even if it is TWO years old.) A company's relativeness and relevance is factored as much by it's business applications as it is the product or service it offers. That means give and take; it means making hard choices where efficiency and time-to-deliver is selected over optimization or perfection; it means never being complacent. I would love if my reality was a life that is not this fast-paced, this technologically-advanced, this "keeping up with the Jones'" - but it's not and sticking with processes and systems that don't match reality is detrimental to what I can offer Savant. So I surround myself after work in the "simple" with a number of animals I have lost track of, gardens, and forcing laborious farm-tasks on my daughter - and I face work daily with the goal to be as innovative and visionary as the master that I've looked up to (more than he knows) for 18 years.

"Not all complaints end up being adverse events, but it's critical to have a process there to create an audit trail with a click of a button, the closed loop essentially that pulls everything together." On this week's #IndustryInsiders, advice from Kevin Chien for #medicaldevice companies on having the right technology—with close collaboration capabilities—in place before the next adverse event occurs. Imagine every team in your business, every role across your product cycle, working in perfect sync. That’s the power of Savant Systems—and they showed us how at Dreamforce 2024.   Among all the groundbreaking stories shared throughout the week, one stood out as a shining example of what’s possible when vision meets execution.    The presentation—led by the heads of business and IT Angela Larson and Beth LeClerc—was not just a highlight for the event, it was a masterclass in leveraging the power of Salesforce and Propel Software to revolutionize business operations.   They demonstrated how Savant built their entire operational backbone on a single platform, integrating Salesforce and Propel to create a seamless flow of data across the organization.    This holistic approach means that everyone, from design and manufacturing to quality, marketing, sales, and service, is accessing and working from the same data in real time.    The result? A personalized, high-touch experience that meets and exceeds the expectations of Savant’s discerning customers, clients, and retailers. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eF7EduCJ

Huge thanks to Guardant Health for inviting us to their Vendor Showcase last week! It was a unique and incredible opportunity to connect with nearly 300 lab technicians, doc control, and quality team members who use our solution daily. Propel helped save Guardant an impressive 27,000 hours in labor in their first year after implementation. It was such a thrill to hear how the users themselves felt that impact their day-to-day work! 🙌 Excited for what’s next as we continue to innovate together! Can't wait to see what you do next. 🚀 To learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gzhXbZiA
