We celebrated World Water Day on Friday, March 22! 🌊 We discovered that our team is passionate about projects that bring clean water to the communities we serve and had a lot to say! Read on to hear from them: “My work on DC Water’s Lead Free DC Program is personally meaningful as everyone deserves safe, clean, and affordable drinking water. I feel good about supporting this program to equitably remove 42,000 lead service lines across the District!” Keri Shoemaker, principal, east coast environmental sector lead --- “I like being able to engage and share about efforts to keep the systems we use every day working. It’s super cool to see the intricacies that are so critical to providing access to safe and clean water for our communities!” Keanna Dandridge, community engagement specialist --- “For those of us who live in the Pacific Northwest, we’re so lucky to be surrounded by natural beauty at every turn. I love working on projects that reach our neighbors and inform them why it’s worth protecting water quality and wildlife habitat to conserve that beauty for generations to come.” Alex Sobie, design director --- “I remember watching a documentary in high school that detailed the water crisis we’re facing, and it was so impactful, I still remember it years later. Here’s my takeaway since then and why I love the work I get to do now: While humanity can cause harm, we are also capable of remarkable change when faced with crucial challenges. I believe in our ability to repair and improve our communities, and working on clean water projects allows me to contribute to this positive change.” Love Lee, communications coordinator --- Visit the comments to read more! Do you share our passion for projects that bring clean water to our communities? Tell us about it in the comments! #WorldWaterDay2024 #MakeItMeaningful #PRR #CleanWater
