During his two years as a Public Ally with Public Allies Arizona Greggory Ohannessian was part of a project to make more inclusive spaces for children with disabilities, which was a passion of his. It fostered his desire to be an advocate for the community, and gave him the chance to learn the skills to do just that. Now, he is finding new paths for advocating for the communities he cares about. https://lnkd.in/gRuhYtRV... #publicallies #publicalliesarizona #americorps #advocacy #professionaldevelopment #leadershipdevelopment #inclusivity

The co-chairs of the #NationalService Congressional Caucus have a plan to strengthen and expand AmeriCorps. The Promoting Service through AmeriCorps Act – sponsored by Sen. Chris Coons, Sen. Bill Cassidy, Rep. Doris Matsui, & Rep. Garret Graves - will create more service opportunities, expand benefits to support recruitment and improve the member experience, and strengthen pathways to education and employment for all #AmeriCorps members. “Senator Coons and his life-long commitment to national service has enabled Public Allies to graduate over 10,000 AmeriCorps members who have served a total of 17.5 million hours and helped more than 3,000 local nonprofits across our country address the most pressing needs of our nation’s local communities,” says Jenise Terrell, CEO of Public Allies. “I wholeheartedly support Senator Coons and his new AmeriCorps reauthorization bill: the Promoting Service through AmeriCorps (PSA) Act and thank him for his continued leadership and service.” Learn more about the bipartisan bill: https://lnkd.in/g3JbnrXC #Stand4Service
