We develop leaders. Come lead with us.

About us

LEE is a diverse network of equity-minded leaders at all stages of life and career. By providing 1:1 coaching, meaningful member-to-member connections, and skill-building opportunities, we help our network members do the work needed to ensure an equitable education for children everywhere – whether that’s organizing within their local communities, exploring careers in policy and advocacy, or pursuing elected office. LEE is a free membership organization currently open to alumni of several partner organizations including Teach For America, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), New Leaders, Latinos for Education, Urban Teachers, Public Allies, and School Board Partners. LEE believes that when a diverse group of leaders, grounded in a commitment to equity, are in leadership roles, they will serve as a transformative force for and with students and communities. We are an outcomes-oriented organization that operates in an entrepreneurial environment deeply invested in continuous improvement. LEE is honored to have been selected as a LATINA Style 50 Award recipient and a When Work Works award recipient. We are also an Employer of National Service. If you would like to become part of our team and join the fight for educational equity, or if you would simply like to learn more, please visit wearelee.org.

Here’s how to support women in civic leadership 👇 1. Mentor, empower, and support! Providing opportunities for women to connect with established leaders in their field, supporting women-led community organizations and advocacy initiatives, and championing policy decisions made by women can help build confidence and expertise. 2. Donate to women’s political campaigns and leadership initiatives Donating to women in civic leadership and elected leadership roles is a crucial step towards achieving gender equality and promoting diversity in decision-making roles. Your donations can be made directly to elected leadership campaigns, along with donations to organizations, causes, and programs that can make a great impact on women involvement in leadership roles. 3. Volunteer for women’s leadership causes and campaigns By offering time, skills, and expertise in community projects, campaigns, and initiatives, we can support women who are advocating for marginalized groups and bringing about positive social change. Volunteering for these women also provides invaluable opportunities for our own networking, skill-building, and personal growth.

🌟 Empowering leaders of tomorrow! Our People of Color Leadership Program at LEE was created to support emerging leaders from diverse backgrounds. We need leaders like you at decision-making tables whose perspectives and voices reflect the lived experiences of their constituents. For years, LEE has helped hundreds of people like yourself envision themselves creating positive impact in elected office. Through this program, we seek to leverage our collective voices and leadership to ensure that our communities are represented, championed, and honored. This year’s cohort is specifically for members of color. We’ll offer identity-specific spaces, where we will offer the standard PLP program with extra emphasis on what it means to be a leader of color and how to navigate that. Interested in attending this year’s People of Color Leadership Program? Apply today BEFORE our September 6th deadline: https://lnkd.in/eANQ-asM 🔗

As back-to-school season begins, we are reminded that our students, educators, and parents have lived with the fear of devastating school shootings for the past 20 years. This does not have to be. We can foster safe, supportive schools—free from gun violence—by addressing the factors that lead to violent incidents and implementing proven strategies that contribute to a healthy school climate. Join us and Everytown for Gun Safety on September 11th to breakdown the scope of gun violence in the United States, focusing on evidence-based solutions that address the underlying causes of school gun violence and that prevent guns from coming into schools in the first place. Participants will leave the session with information about policies they can advocate for at the local and state level to improve school safety. Interested in learning more?
