Bigger is better when it comes to our newest facility, which opened last week along booming Northern Boulevard in Queens, New York! Standing 12 stories tall and developed from the ground-up between two existing facilities, this ambitious and complex project took years of dedicated planning and construction. Altogether this location is now one of our largest in the country, with more than 7,370 units and 431,000 net rentable square feet. We’re excited to be a part of the ongoing growth in this vibrant neighborhood. Thanks to all our team members who helped bring this awesome new facility to life. Some of our leaders recently spent a Career Day with students from Value Schools, which serves young people in the Los Angeles area. Students explored real-world case studies with our real estate and field operations teams, talked about growth and development with top executives, and wrapped up the day with a fun excursion to a Public Storage facility. We were thrilled to engage in this hands-on learning experience and to share all the career opportunities we have at Public Storage. In Hawaii, construction projects often begin with a traditional ground blessing performed by a Hawaiian minister, or kahu.
