Ever feel like there's a disconnect between your organization's present performance and where you aspire to be? This "problem gap" is something that all professionals face, but it also presents a chance for development and achievement. Here's how you can bridge that gap effectively: 1. Assess team performance, processes, and employee satisfaction. Knowing where you stand is critical to making progress. 2. Define your desired state (Point B) by setting explicit targets for performance, process improvement, and satisfaction levels. Having a target provides your team something specific to strive for. 3. Develop a Strategic Plan: Break down larger objectives into smaller, doable activities. Create an action plan outlining steps, responsibilities, and deadlines. Begin taking actionable steps and monitor your progress on a regular basis. 4. Overcome challenges by being adaptable and fostering teamwork within your team. Celebrate milestones and achievements to maintain motivation. 5. Focus on continuous improvement by reviewing goals and progress, encouraging innovation, and investing in training and development. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement. Understanding your starting place, identifying specific goals, and developing a strategic plan will allow you to bridge the gap and achieve your company objectives. Let us embrace the journey and keep going forward. #Leadership #Management #ConstantImprovement #GoalSetting #ProfessionalGrowth #TeamSuccess #OrganizationalDevelopment

It takes more than just vision to be a leader; it also need problem-solving skills. This is why it is so effective to incorporate Lean Six Sigma and Design Thinking into leadership training. We recently studied the ways in which these approaches can revolutionize management in a leadership course: → 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐧'𝐬 "𝟖 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐬" 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 → 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 "𝟓 𝐖𝐡𝐲𝐬" 𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐬 → 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬 𝐯𝐢𝐚 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 → 𝐔𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 What was the outcome? Not only can a leader provide direction, but they can identify problems, generate original ideas, and implement significant changes. When these frameworks are combined, you get a powerful toolkit for change that can be applied to any problem—be it high defect rates, long wait times, or staff burnout. Operations are like the everyday workhorses, making sure everything gets done smoothly, from stocking shelves to answering customer calls. It's kind of like being a multitasking pro—juggling stability with innovation. In this journey through Operations vs. Projects, we're diving deep into how businesses do just that. Understanding how knowing the right balance between everyday work and big ideas is the secret sauce for success in today's business world! A general awareness of the organizational ambidexterity can help you focus your efforts on what matters most in your business. Consider running the organization for example. If you don’t have a solid system to run your operations, you’re putting you and your business in danger. Why? As you gain traction in your business, you’ll find it difficult to delegate or assign task to people. You might see yourself worrying about them making mistakes because they lack the guidance and training to perform the job unsupervised. Maybe they can but without a clear system in place, results may vary and not at the level of quality you expect. Your business might also take up a lot of your time because you’re the only one who can do the job. How dreadful would that be? Then you’ll consider changing the organization. If you want to make a shift but things aren’t set yet for your business, how would adding new information impact the organization? If you’ll ask me, it would feel overwhelming especially to those who’ll get affected by the change. Your intention may be good but the approach may be bad. It’ll cause resistance and hesitation! Worst, people may leave you. Which is why establishing your operations first is important. This can be the foundation for identifying opportunities for improvement.
