If organizations intentionally brought their purpose and values to life - using them as a lens to which they activated their corporate strategies across material business operations and human touchpoints - imagine progress that could be made. Not because it’s good for good - but because it’s good for business. Enabling others to act on behalf of shared purpose and values is always a winning strategy! And the compounding effect can be transformative.✨
Changing the words won’t change the risk. But changing how companies engage stakeholders will. I think a lot about: what if #stakeholderengagement wasn’t about managing risk but reimagining stakeholders as key players in shaping the future? In a time when democracy itself is being tested, and business decisions are part of the equation, I can’t think of a better investment for companies. Tomorrow I’m up with the sun to do just that! Diving into a conversation about stakeholder engagement as a competitive advantage with a global packaging company. Because real resilience comes from relationships. The number of current events to keep track of is dizzying and the political scene is getting more and more surreal. Except it's not - it's 100% real and it's already impacting thousands of people locally and worldwide. So what is there to actually DO? If you are in the US: 1. Find your representative (link in comments) 2. Call the US Congress Operator @ (202) 224-3121 and ask to be connected to your rep. 3. Express your concern about whichever of the egregious events of the past 5 weeks most concerns you: USAID, NOAA, NPS, DOGE, Ukraine, LGBTQ+, ICE raids, etc. Want a script you can use? “Hello! My name is ________ and I am a resident of CITY/DISTRICT. I am calling to share my concern with NAME OF LEGISLATOR regarding _____________ matter. This is important to me because of _____________________. I would like to see you be more active around this issue. Thanks for your time." I promise, it gets easier the more you do it and it makes a difference! You can call again tomorrow with another concern. I've been starting my days doing this and it's refreshing. Where on earth are our political representatives if not fighting for us and our beliefs?
